
Continuing his working trip to Europe, on the afternoon of December 5 (local time), comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation and the Hai Phong City Delegation worked with the Vietnam Business Association in Belgium and Luxembourg (ViLaB).
Also attending was Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Belgium and Luxembourg and Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to the European Union (EU).
Sharing information with the overseas business community, City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau said that Hai Phong has entered a new development phase after the merger, with a foundation of 11 consecutive years of double-digit economic growth, consolidating its position as the locality with the third largest economic scale in Vietnam.

The City Party Secretary affirmed that Hai Phong is one of the cities with the best investment environment in the country, with synchronous transport infrastructure including highways, railways, deep-water seaports, international airports, inland waterways and abundant land funds from specialized economic zones and new-generation free trade zones.
With the view that the success of enterprises is the success of the city, and the work of enterprises is also the work of the government, Hai Phong always "rolls out the red carpet" to welcome investors to the city to do business.
Expressing his desire to tap resources from the Vietnamese community in Europe, promote Vietnam - EU relations in general, economic relations between Vietnam and Belgium in particular, and support Hai Phong's business community in international integration, the City Party Secretary suggested many ideas for cooperation with ViLaB.
In the field of investment attraction, the city hopes that overseas Vietnamese businesses will prioritize key investments in areas rich in technology, taking advantage of Europe's strengths in green industry, environmental treatment, renewable energy and circular economy.

In trade promotion, the city recommends that overseas Vietnamese businesses and Hai Phong businesses support each other in connecting markets and accessing the city's preferential policies.
The City Party Secretary encouraged overseas Vietnamese intellectuals and businessmen in Belgium and Luxembourg to participate in strategic consulting on innovation with the city; emphasizing that Hai Phong always opens its doors, provides maximum support and listens to all initiatives and contributions from the Vietnamese business community abroad, considering this a valuable resource for the city's sustainable development.
ViLaB was established on November 3, 2024 at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brussels, is an official, professional forum for Vietnamese entrepreneurs, investors, and experts living and working in Belgium. With about 60 members who are businesses operating in the fields of garment, catering services, renewable energy, logistics, trade - import and export, with a good international network and investment potential in Vietnam and Europe. ViLaB aims to support these businesses to exploit opportunities for trade cooperation, investment and sustainable development between Vietnam and Belgium. Currently, the Vietnamese community in Belgium has about 13,000 people.
