Vinh Thuan – a land along the tranquil Luoc and Thai Binh rivers, blessed with fertile alluvial soil. For a long time, this area has been famous for its delicious mudworms, a highlight of Hai Phong city.

From early morning, the roads along the Luoc River dike are bustling with locals and traders buying lugworms caught from the lagoons along the river.

For many years, harvesting "gifts from nature" has become the main source of income for hundreds of people in Vinh Thuan commune.

Currently, the entire commune has over 200 households raising and harvesting mudworms, covering a total area of ​​226 hectares. The average annual mudworm production reaches 150-200 tons, bringing high income to the people.

"The twentieth of September and the fifth of October" each year is the peak season for mudworms in Vinh Thuan commune.

These large, round, plump, golden-red worms are a sign of quality from the fields of Vinh Thuan.

The people of Vinh Thuan commune are delighted with the abundant harvest of mudworms in 2025. This year, the mudworms are large, plump, uniform, and brightly colored, so the selling price is higher than in previous years.

Farmers in Vinh Thuan commune are delighted with their nets full of lugworms.

Although the work is arduous, from dawn until late afternoon, the heavy catches of mudworms are always a source of encouragement for the farmers.

Sea worms are packed in crates and sold at prices ranging from 180,000 to 250,000 VND per kilogram, depending on the time of year and quality.

Along the rice paddies and wetlands outside the Luoc and Thai Binh rivers (Vinh Thuan commune), there is a bustling and lively atmosphere of harvesting mudworms.
