Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025: Connecting and enhancing the value of agricultural products

BAC NINH - Under the close direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the close coordination between co-organizing units, event consulting units, People's Committees of communes and wards, and related enterprises and cooperatives, the preparations for the Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025 (from December 5-10) have been completed. This is an important trade promotion, cultural and tourism event of the province.

Promises many surprises

In the past few days, 12 typical wards and communes including Chu, Phuong Son, Luc Ngan, Bien Dong, Son Hai, Tan Son, Bien Son, Sa Ly, Kien Lao, Nam Duong, Deo Gia and Phuc Hoa with booths at the Festival have actively prepared display models for the locality. Every ward and commune wants to express a unique and outstanding display space to honor OCOP products and hometown agricultural products.

Ms. Nguyen Thai Thanh, owner of Hoa Cat Tuong business on Le Loi street ( Bac Giang ward), revealed that over the past week, the design and construction team of Hoa Cat Tuong has come up with ideas and advised the People's Committee of Chu ward to decorate the display space at the Festival with the theme "Tu linh hoi", creating the shape of a dragon, unicorn, turtle, and phoenix. According to Ms. Thanh, this idea comes from Chu being the place where the Festival takes place, and also the center of the province's key fruit region, so there will be many visitors. The items to implement the idea are mainly specialty fruits of Luc Ngan land including: Oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, chili, apples, coconuts, areca nuts, persimmons and decorative LED lights. Besides fruit products, Chu ward's booth also displays many OCOP products such as: Chu noodles, dried lychees, lychee vinegar, etc.; check-in space to attract customers and spread the image of the ward.

* From 20:10 - 21:30: Homeland Festival performance; announcement of reasons, introduction of delegates; watching report introducing Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025; opening speech of leaders of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee; program to mobilize support for people to overcome consequences of natural disasters; Opening ceremony of "Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025"; art program; delegates visit the Festival.

Along with Chu Ward, the communes and wards participating in displaying products at the Festival have also completed models and decoration spaces. Comrade Pham Van Du, Chairman of Phuong Son Ward People's Committee informed: Phuong Son is a land with many famous OCOP products and products such as: dried lychee, Bau Tien tourist site, Dong Na guava, Quy Son sweet orange, canned longan, fully orange juice, Hai Hoang Son clean wine... To attract visitors to the booth, in addition to the 60 million VND supported by the Provincial People's Committee, the ward invested about 250 million VND from the local budget and socialized sources (basically in kind fruits, OCOP products) to decorate the booth. "Our booth has the theme "Phuong Son development". It is expected that during the Festival, in addition to displaying, the ward's booth will consume about 30 tons of oranges and grapefruits. This will contribute to making the space of this year's Fruit Festival more interesting", said Comrade Du.

Large scale

This is the first time after the merger, Bac Ninh has organized a Fruit Festival. Therefore, this festival is organized at a regional scale with more than 200 booths displaying and selling products. This year's festival has many differences compared to previous fruit fairs and festivals, including spaces: Displaying fruits and agricultural products of typical provinces and cities: Hanoi, Son La, Hung Yen, Lang Son, Hai Phong, Can Tho...; displaying, introducing, supplying agricultural tools, machinery, production - preservation - processing technology; demonstrating e-commerce activities; culinary area; culture, art: Introducing and performing cultural identities such as Quan Ho singing on boats, Then singing, Sloong Hao and exhibition space History - Outstanding achievements of Ha Bac - Bac Giang - Bac Ninh provinces past and present. The Organizing Committee has arranged an additional Information - Press Center; security checkpoints, fire prevention and fighting; logistics - technical - medical checkpoint

During the festival, every evening there will be an art performance introducing the local ethnic cultural identity organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and communes and wards to serve visitors and shoppers; organize competitions in arranging artistic fruits, eating fruits, creating delicious dishes from fruits, etc.; introduce tourist attractions, experience fruit gardens. Thereby, helping visitors have both real experiences and promote the beautiful scenery, people and cultural identity of ethnic groups in the area.

Currently, the People's Committees of 11 communes and wards of Luc Ngan district and the former Chu town, especially the 4 central communes and wards: Chu, Nam Duong, Phuong Son, Kien Lao have selected 20 beautiful gardens and tourist spots to bring visitors to experience and buy oranges, grapefruits and local products. The Organizing Committee also organizes tours and bus routes (free of charge) to pick up and drop off people and tourists in the province to attend the Festival.

The representative of the Department of Industry and Trade said that, along with the preparation work of the localities, VIETAD Event and Advertising Joint Stock Company (the event organizer) has prepared modern exhibition, shopping and sightseeing spaces. At the same time, the Festival will bring a special art program in the opening ceremony with performances such as: Homeland Festival Drum; lion and dragon dances, welcoming and a series of songs with the theme "Homeland Festival" with the participation of more than 100 famous actors, musicians and singers; along with magical light performances, lighting up the festival space.

Building an image of a hospitable fruit growing region

As the locality chosen to host the Festival, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, in recent days, the People's Committee of Chu Ward has coordinated with relevant units to develop plans and mobilize forces to ensure security, order and traffic safety before and during the Festival. Comrade Pham Hong Long, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chu Ward, said that the locality has mobilized people to conduct general cleaning, trim trees, decorate LED lights around tree roots in the square area, the central lake shore; thoroughly instructed residential groups and households to hang national flags along national and provincial highways passing through the area. The People's Committee of Chu Ward encouraged families with conditions to buy water bottles and paper cups to place on the sidewalks to serve visitors for free.

The Chu Ward headquarters is also decorated with LED lighting systems. The ward directs gardeners to clean up the landscape and environment, especially not to increase entrance fees and tour prices. It is recommended that food and beverage businesses and resorts ensure security and food hygiene and safety for customers. Comrade Long affirmed: "We are committed to coordinating with the Organizing Committee, relevant departments, branches and agencies to ensure the Festival takes place safely and effectively. Thereby, building the image of the province's fruit growing region as friendly and hospitable."

With thorough and thoughtful preparation, along with diverse activities that form a series of events combining trade promotion and culture - tourism, the value and image of agricultural growing areas, OCOP products of the province and neighboring provinces will be honored at the Festival; at the same time, promoting agricultural tourism and enhancing local brand recognition. This is also an opportunity for Bac Ninh to introduce to consumers, tourists and partners the potential, advantages and key products of the province, contributing to building the image of a dynamic, integrated and sustainably developing Bac Ninh. Thereby, supporting businesses, cooperatives, and production households to promote their brands, connect with trade, sign product consumption contracts; improve trade promotion skills, business capacity and market management for participating entities.
