At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that this is not only a vibrant festival for young people but also a forum for leaders, managers, and the people to see the important achievements of the banking and financial sectors in the national digital transformation process. This is the 5th time since 2020 that Tien Phong Newspaper has organized this event. To date, Vietnam Card Day has spread with great creativity, and the numbers speak for themselves, with hundreds of thousands of experiences of cashless technology at the Song Festival and tens of millions of views on social media platforms, demonstrating the practical benefits of cashless payment methods.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, this is the consumer trend of the era, reflecting society's confidence in card and digital payments. The 2025 Card Festival, taking place at the same time as the five-year review of the Non-Cash Payment Development Project (2021-2025), is even more significant. The success of Vietnam Card Day contributes to the implementation of the Government 's national comprehensive financial strategy until 2025 and its vision until 2030. Accordingly, the goal is to have at least 80% of adults with non-cash transaction accounts, with a growth rate of 20-25% per year.
With the consensus of the people, businesses, and the pioneering spirit of the younger generation, we will soon realize the goal of a digital economy , a modern, safe, prosperous, and sustainable green economy in the new era, the era of national progress," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc requested that the banking and finance sector and related units focus on investing in technology and digital infrastructure, and quickly strengthen and popularize cashless payment points nationwide across all business sectors; enhance security and privacy measures to maximize the benefits and rights of customers using cashless payment technology; expand and strengthen international connectivity and integration; promote training and development of digital human resources; and strengthen the dissemination, promotion, and training of knowledge and skills in modern payment methods.
At the opening ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Phung Cong Suong, stated that, through each season, Vietnam Card Day has left a profound mark – not only on policymakers, economic experts, banks, and technology companies – but also on millions of people, especially young people – the pioneering force in the national digital transformation journey.
Vietnam Card Day 2025, themed "One Touch - A Thousand Trusts," is a series of activities spanning from the end of September to the present, featuring numerous workshops, seminars, and technology experiences. This theme not only conveys a message about the country's technological breakthroughs but also a message of trust – trust in intelligent connectivity between people, and trust in a Vietnam that is steadily advancing in the digital age.
Since 2020, Vietnam Card Day has become a meaningful annual event, contributing to the spread of cashless payment habits in society. This is a major policy of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam, aiming to build a modern, transparent, and secure payment ecosystem, in line with the development trend of the digital economy. The Sóng Festival is a highlight activity within the framework of Vietnam Card Day 2025, co-organized by Tien Phong newspaper and the Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS), under the content direction of the State Bank of Vietnam.
