The workshop was attended by over 150 delegates, including former leaders of central ministries and agencies, many experts, managers, historians, and educational and business organizations nationwide. Also in attendance was Le Van Chuyen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Newspaper and Radio & Television.
In her welcoming remarks at the seminar, Dr. Truong Thi Minh Sam, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Economic and Management Sciences, emphasized: Many businesses, organizations, and individuals in society are working diligently and creatively, creating many valuable intangible assets. However, awareness of intangible assets remains quite limited. Many entities, despite possessing valuable creative assets, do not know how to manage and protect them. In reality, there have been many cases of copying, theft, or unauthorized use, causing significant losses to the owners.
"Furthermore, the team of professionals responsible for evaluating and valuing intangible assets is not yet fully developed and lacks a high level of expertise. Therefore, determining the value of intangible assets of innovative businesses faces many difficulties. This directly affects fundraising activities, listing on the stock market, and attracting investment," shared Dr. Truong Thi Minh Sam.

At the conference, presentations from experts, managers, and educational and business organizations focused on analyzing the current state of copyright protection in Vietnam, especially in the context of the digital content boom and the increasingly complex situation of unauthorized use of works.
Many delegates noted that the unauthorized copying and uncontrolled distribution of materials is causing significant losses to authors and publishers, while also diminishing the motivation for creativity. Many opinions at the conference also suggested the need to quickly adopt digital platforms for "managing works and authors' data; monitoring and measuring material usage; supporting the detection of copyright infringement; and enhancing the commercial exploitation of intellectual property."
Experts also shared international experiences on the application of blockchain, AI, and automated rights registration systems to save costs and improve accuracy in rights management. One of the important points agreed upon by the delegates was the need to promote tripartite linkages between the state, universities, and businesses to create resources for the development of a creative economy; support the commercialization of research results; bring intellectual products into daily life, production, and business; and create a transparent environment for creative activities.
As the coordinating and media sponsoring unit, An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television is the only media agency participating in co-organizing this workshop. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television, Le Van Chuyen, shared: In the current context, intellectual property, copyright, and copying rights are playing an increasingly important role in social life. Especially in the field of radio and television, compliance with copyright is even more practical because this is the environment for creating and exploiting content daily.
“The dissemination of copyright information through An Giang province's media channels needs to be further strengthened. Through this workshop, we have gained a deeper understanding of our responsibility in providing information and disseminating copyright law to businesses, organizations, individuals, and those interested, helping them understand the legal regulations correctly and implement them in practice. This contributes to protecting copyright, related rights, and the legitimate interests of creative individuals and groups. I believe this is a very meaningful activity. After the workshop, we will coordinate with relevant agencies to implement the related content in a concrete manner,” Mr. Le Van Chuyen emphasized.
Mr. Le Van Chuyen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Province's Newspaper and Radio-Television Department, signed a cooperation agreement with Mr. Hoang Trong Quang, Chairman of the Vietnam Copyright Association. Simultaneously, participating units in the workshop also signed cooperation agreements to promote the implementation of the Intellectual Property Law through a collective licensing mechanism, identification, and protection of intangible assets of Vietnamese agencies and businesses. This affirms the role of the Vietnam Copyright Association (Vietrro) in identifying, licensing, protecting, and capitalizing the intellectual property of organizations, individuals, and businesses.
