In swimming, the Vietnamese swimming team competed with great effort and achieved impressive results, most notably the gold medal won by Tran Hung Nguyen.
Tran Hung Nguyen brilliantly won the first gold medal for Vietnamese swimming in the men's 200m individual medley final at the 33rd SEA Games. The swimmer, born in 2003, dominated his opponents from the very first meters, then finished with a time of 2 minutes 02 seconds 11.

This is Hung Nguyen's 10th gold medal at the SEA Games, and also the 3rd gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.
Meanwhile, another Vietnamese athlete, Nguyen Quang Thuan, also won a bronze medal with a time of 2 minutes 04 seconds 19.
In the women's 200m butterfly final, despite her best efforts, Vo Thi My Tien only won the silver medal with a time of 2 minutes 12 seconds 10, behind the home athlete Kwanmuang Kamonchanok, who finished with a time of 2 minutes 11 seconds 78.
In the men's 100m freestyle event, Tran Van Nguyen Quoc was unable to compete with the two Singaporean athletes, thus settling for third place overall with a time of 50.02 seconds. Immediately behind him was his teammate Luong Jeremie Loic Nino with a time of 50.05 seconds.

In taekwondo, Vietnamese taekwondo athletes made a strong impression by winning the gold medal in the mixed men's and women's creative freestyle performance event.
In the mixed creative performance category, four teams participated: Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. The Vietnamese team excelled thanks to their difficult techniques, uniformity, and smooth coordination. Six athletes contributed significantly to their victory: Le Tran Kim Uyen, Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Tran Dang Khoa, Tran Ho Duy, Nguyen Thi Y Binh, and Nguyen Phan Khanh Han.

Earlier, in canoeing, paddlers Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong excellently won the gold medal in the women's 500m double canoe event.
On the same day of competition, athlete Nguyen Van Dung defeated his Indonesian opponent to bring home the fourth gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, after winning the petanque event.
Notably, on the opening day of the SEA Games 33, athletes from Hanoi contributed two gold medals to the Vietnamese sports delegation: Nguyen Xuan Thanh (taekwondo, creative team poomsae) and Nguyen Van Dung (petanque).
Also on December 10th, the Cambodian sports delegation officially submitted its withdrawal request to the Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games. Cambodia's decision to withdraw from the 33rd SEA Games forced host country Thailand to adjust some organizational and professional aspects. However, the impact was not too significant and was all within the contingency plan.
As of 8 PM on December 10th, the Vietnamese sports delegation had won 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals, including:
