To become a highly capable special forces combatant, Nguyen Viet Hung has consistently set high standards for himself over the years, determined to study and train, constantly improving his political acumen, martial arts skills, and special forces tactics to effectively meet the requirements and tasks assigned to him. With a high sense of responsibility, utmost effort, and a strong will to succeed, Nguyen Viet Hung has achieved well-deserved results.

Prior to the 2022 All-Army Special Forces Military Sports Competition, despite having only recently recovered from knee surgery, Nguyen Viet Hung quickly returned to training and competing with his teammates. He regularly advised and proposed effective methods and techniques to his unit commanders to improve the quality of training and competition. At the competition, not only did he excel in his individual events, but Nguyen Viet Hung's outstanding efforts also served as an example for his teammates to learn from and emulate, contributing to the unit's second-place overall victory.

Special forces combat is a central focus of training at the 18th Special Forces Battalion. Recognizing this, in addition to mastering the martial arts curriculum of the unit, Nguyen Viet Hung proactively researched and learned other martial arts techniques to improve his skills and meet the requirements of his assigned tasks. Understanding the unit's unique mission, he advised the Party Committee and the unit's command to implement the "Ninth Hour of Martial Arts" model. Accordingly, after regular training hours, combatants receive additional training and practice outside of regular hours to further enhance their martial arts skills. After implementation, the model has contributed to improving the quality of martial arts training within the unit.

Commenting on combatant Nguyen Viet Hung, Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Van Hieu, Political Officer of the 18th Special Forces Battalion, said: “Comrade Nguyen Viet Hung is a versatile, enthusiastic, and responsible combatant who has made important contributions to the unit's overall performance and achievements, especially in competitions and sports events at all levels. In his daily life, he is always humble, cheerful, sociable, and enthusiastic in helping and sharing his experience with his comrades.”

Through his tireless efforts over the years, Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Hung has amassed an impressive collection of awards and commendations, including: First and second place in the team competition of the four combined military disciplines; second place in the all-around competition for the fittest soldier in the Hanoi Capital Armed Forces Sports Festival; high achievements in the 2022 All-Army Sniper Competition and the 2022 All-Army Special Forces Competition; and the title of Outstanding Soldier at the grassroots level for three consecutive years, along with a commendation from the Minister of National Defense ...
