Urban beautification to welcome the spring

Along the streets of Hac Thanh ward, urban beautification work is being carried out urgently, creating a "bright, green, clean, and beautiful" landscape to welcome a new spring.

These days, workers from Thanh Hoa Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company are racing against time to give Hac Thanh ward a "new look" to welcome the spring. As the central urban area of ​​the province, urban beautification is not only for Hac Thanh ward but also for the entire province's appearance. Therefore, from the Nguyet Vien roundabout, the Chim Hac roundabout to the median strips of Nguyen Hoang Boulevard, Le Loi Boulevard, Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard... many large billboards and slogans celebrating the Party, the Lunar New Year of the Horse, and welcoming the elections for National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term have been installed. Brightly colored flower pots, along with fluttering red flags, make the spring atmosphere even more vibrant.

During this Lunar New Year, over 2,000 red flags were displayed along the main streets of Hac Thanh ward. At the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Cultural Area, propaganda banners, flower pots, and ornamental plants were also replaced. The grounds of the Le Loi National Hero Monument were decorated with welcoming slogans and numerous flower pots arranged in a carpet along the grounds, creating a striking highlight for the ward's appearance. Not only on the streets and public buildings, but also at the headquarters of agencies and businesses, the red color of the national flag, red banners, vibrant flower pots, and slogans created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for the new spring season.

Environmental sanitation work is also being carried out with maximum manpower mobilized by Thanh Hoa Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company to collect waste. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, a worker at Thanh Hoa Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company, said: “In the days before, during, and after the Lunar New Year, the amount of waste increased many times compared to normal days, so most workers worked overtime to ensure that waste did not accumulate. From now until Tet, we will work day and night, even during New Year's Eve. Our goal is to ensure that the environment is always clean and beautiful before, during, and after Tet.”

According to the plan of the People's Committee of Hac Thanh Ward, households selling flowers and ornamental plants will cease business on the afternoon of the last day of the old year to allow workers to clean up and collect garbage, restoring clear sidewalks for the streets before New Year's Eve and transporting all garbage by the night of the 29th of Tet. In addition, neighborhood groups are also stepping up propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to maintain general hygiene, collect and dispose of garbage in designated areas, and actively beautify their homes and neighborhoods, creating a green, clean, beautiful, and fresh environment.

Urban order maintenance is one of the activities that the People's Committee of Hac Thanh ward has directed to implement decisively and comprehensively. Lieutenant Colonel Phung Van Tuan, Deputy Head of Hac Thanh Ward Police, said: “The Lunar New Year is a time when violations of urban order, public order, and environmental sanitation increase. Playing a core role in this, the ward police have coordinated with functional forces to focus on clearing areas encroaching on sidewalks and roadsides for business and trading; collecting potted plants, dismantling illegally placed advertising signs and billboards, removing stalls, awnings, and canopies encroaching on sidewalks; tidying up electrical wires, cutting trees along the roads that pose a risk of falling, causing aesthetic and safety hazards, creating a clear improvement in the urban appearance of the ward.”

In addition, the ward police have completely resolved the issue of illegal street markets in alley 198 Le Lai, alley 77 Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Lo Chum, and To Vinh Dien, eliminating the encroachment of sidewalks and roads for market activities. Notably, over 22 main streets have seen positive changes in their urban appearance. Specifically, the criteria of "bright, clean, and beautiful" are clearly evident on the boulevards of Le Loi, Tran Phu, Quang Trung, Lac Long Quan, Ba Trieu, and Hai Thuong Lan Ong.

Along with Hac Thanh ward, telecommunications companies such as Vinaphone, Mobifone , and Viettel have proactively dismantled 630 advertising signs installed on main streets that did not ensure urban aesthetics. Hatuba Advertising Company dismantled all advertising boards in the middle of Le Loi Boulevard. The electricity sector has been upgrading and replacing the lighting system on main streets, with Le Loi Boulevard basically meeting the criteria of being "bright and beautiful".

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, the volume of traffic increases dramatically. To combat traffic congestion at key locations, the police have erected warning signs and deployed patrol and control forces to manage traffic. Neighborhood committees have also intensified their efforts to raise public awareness about traffic safety; and mobilized forces to guide and direct traffic at complex intersections.

To date, preparations for the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse 2026) in Hac Thanh ward are being implemented according to plan, creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation throughout the Party and the people. This will leverage internal strengths to help Hac Thanh strive to achieve the goals and tasks set for the new year.
