On August 27th, the VTV Cup 2024 International Women's Volleyball Tournament concluded its group stage with the most surprising result being that the host team, Vietnam, only finished third in Group A, thus having to face a strong opponent in the quarterfinals.

No team was eliminated after the group stage, but finishing only 3rd out of 4 teams in Group A, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and her teammates face a major challenge in the quarterfinals when they will meet Henan Club (China), the runner-up in Group B. However, according to Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, to successfully defend their championship title, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team must overcome all obstacles, including Henan Club.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is expected to perform brilliantly in the VTV Cup quarterfinals against Henan Club (China).
The biggest concern for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team currently is the declining form of some key players such as Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh and Doan Thi Lam Oanh. The coaching staff has had to make adjustments, but these haven't yielded significant results. Therefore, the greatest hope still rests on the number one hitter, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, who is maintaining the most consistent form. In addition, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also relies on two young players: outside hitter Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and middle blocker Pham Thi Hien. These two players have had moments of brilliance when given the opportunity to play, but lack consistency due to their inexperience.
A major challenge awaits Bich Tuyen and the Vietnamese national team in the quarterfinals of the VTV Cup 2024.
Having led the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to consecutive successes from 2023 to the present, fans expect coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to continue "steering" the home team to overcome the tough opponent, Ha Nam Club, and advance to the semi-finals. The quarter-final match between the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and Ha Nam Club will take place at 5 PM tomorrow (August 29th) and will be broadcast live on VTV2 and VTV Can Tho . If they overcome Ha Nam Club, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will face the winner of quarter-final 1 between Expressway Club (South Korea) and King Whale Taipei Club (Taiwan), which will take place at 12 PM on August 29th.
Also on August 29th, the remaining two quarter-final matches will take place: Korabelka Club (Russia) vs. Paint Masters Club (Philippines) at 2:30 PM, and Kuanysh Club (Kazakhstan) vs. Aranmare Club (Japan) at 7:30 PM.
