- In the journey for humanity, Red Cross societies at all levels always pay special attention to children - the future green buds of the country. With the motto "Join hands - share - spread love", the societies at all levels in the province increasingly affirm their role as humanitarian bridges, bringing meaningful gifts both material and spiritual to the young generation of the homeland.
Ms. Nong Bich Thuan, President of the Provincial Red Cross Association, said: Understanding the disadvantages of children in especially difficult circumstances, in recent times, Red Cross Associations at all levels in the province have always proactively coordinated with the government, social organizations, and businesses inside and outside the province to organize many practical support activities to bring children care, love, and better living conditions.
Accordingly, identifying that supporting children with more learning conditions is a necessary task, the association at all levels has implemented many practical programs to help them go to school. From 2024 to now, the association has coordinated to regularly award scholarships to nearly 150 children and donated more than 30 phones to poor students with high academic achievements with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND; mobilized to attach humanitarian addresses and adopted children of the association to 54 poor and orphaned students with a value of nearly 100 million VND... Thereby, contributing to helping them reduce their economic burden and encouraging them to excel in their studies.
Hoang Kieu Anh, class 2C, Dong Mo Town Primary School 2, Chi Lang District said: I have been an orphan for nearly a year now, my mother went to work far away so the three of us live with our grandparents who are old and weak and no longer able to work. Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the Red Cross Society of the district has coordinated with the E2K Volunteer Group, Hanoi City to support my family with necessities worth 300,000 VND/month. I am very touched because thanks to that, we have more conditions and motivation to strive in our studies.
In addition, the work of taking care of health and helping children in especially difficult circumstances is also of interest to the Red Cross at all levels to ensure that they develop comprehensively both physically and mentally. Through the program "Nutrition for poor and disabled children", from 2022 to present, the association has coordinated to build boarding kitchens, support school nutrition for 2 schools in the province, support cooking utensils... with a total value of over 1.6 billion VND; coordinated with Bee Media Company Limited to organize a survey to select characters to film the program "Vietnamese Family Home" and so far, 17 students have been selected to film with a total support budget of over 2.5 billion VND; coordinated to send 3 orphans to be raised at the Charity and Youth Talent Development Center in Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province...
Along with the above activities, humanitarian models such as: "Helping children go to school"; "Supporting exam season"; "Donating books and new clothes to friends"; "Charity rice jar"; "Small plan"; "School milk" ... continue to be effectively implemented by all levels of the association. From 2024 to present, the total value of these models in the whole province has reached over 1.8 billion VND. Ms. Truong Thi Kim Oanh, President of the Cao Loc District Red Cross Association, said: The "Charity rice jar" model is one of the meaningful humanitarian activities maintained at grassroots associations, each association earns an average of 10 million VND/year or more. From 2024 to present, through the model, more than 100 million VND has been mobilized to give to students in difficult circumstances, contributing to encouraging and giving them more strength to go to school.
In addition, the association at all levels has also increased coordination in organizing many propaganda activities and educating life skills for children. The communication sessions do not only stop at propagating theory but also focus on practicing first aid skills, handling emergency situations such as: burns, broken arms, nosebleeds, traffic accidents, etc.
In the coming time, the Association at all levels will continue to focus on mobilizing social resources, expanding models of supporting learning, health care, nutrition and life skills education for children in difficult circumstances. We believe that, with the joint efforts of the entire community, the journey of "Giving love - nurturing the future" will continue to spread, contributing to nurturing a future generation that is comprehensively developed, compassionate and full of aspirations.
