Join hands in support
Within this framework, in the southeastern part of the province, localities launched campaigns in response to the movement "All citizens join hands to protect the environment, for a green, clean, and beautiful Vietnam." Through the leadership of the Party Committee and People's Committee of communes and wards, a large number of officials, employees, union members, workers, and local people simultaneously cleaned up the environment in public areas and main roads; planted and cared for trees along riverside and coastal roads, creating attractive landscapes for tourists. Coastal localities collected marine debris washed ashore to keep the beaches clean; rural areas dredged stagnant canals to serve agricultural irrigation. During the Month of Action for the Environment, forestry units and forest management and protection boards in the southeastern part combined reforestation during the rainy season to increase forest cover and prevent soil erosion and landslides in hilly areas.
Mr. Ha Viet Thanh, Director of the Bac Binh Thuan Forestry Enterprise, said: “In response to the joint effort to protect the environment, the enterprise is strengthening the planting of economic forests in the area under its management in Hoa Thang commune in June; at the same time, coordinating with Luong Son commune to promote the planting of drought-resistant trees on the red soil hills in the east of this commune during this year's rainy season, in order to limit red soil landslides from overflowing onto National Highway 1A…”

For a sustainable environment
Through the Month of Action for the Environment, localities hope to strongly spread the message of environmental protection to all levels of the population, contributing to the formation of a green, clean, and beautiful lifestyle, raising awareness of responsibility towards the living environment, and building civilized, environmentally friendly communities. Protecting the environment means protecting one's own health and life, as well as that of future generations. Every citizen should join hands with concrete actions to contribute to building increasingly green, clean, and beautiful residential areas. In the coastal area attracting a large number of tourists in the southeastern part of the province, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thong - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Phu Thuy ward - said: “The garbage collection rate is high, and many streets are clean and beautiful. However, waste in some small alleys, coastal areas, and garbage collection points is not being collected thoroughly. I propose that the People's Committee of the ward review the infrastructure, reorganize garbage collection routes and points to suit each area; and strictly handle violations of waste dumping, encroachment, and environmental pollution. Every citizen should consider environmental protection as protecting their own health and living space.”
Previously, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee directed Party committees at all levels, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations in the province to organize and implement emulation movements suitable to local conditions; incorporate environmental protection content into annual work programs and plans; build effective and appropriate models and methods; and regularly inspect and monitor environmental protection in the area. Local authorities and functional departments commended and rewarded organizations, individuals, communities, and businesses that made effective and practical contributions to environmental protection, sustainable management and use of marine space, rational use of resources, and protection of the marine and island environment.
“Local authorities should take advantage of investment capital to build a number of environmental protection projects serving the community's interests, promoting sustainable marine economic development, and adapting to climate change. Local authorities should regularly conduct awareness campaigns to help improve people's awareness of sustainable environmental protection.” - Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee directed.
