Warmly welcoming the visit of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the delegation, National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue assessed the visit as having great significance on the occasion of the two countries' 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1973-2023).

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was pleased to meet again and thanked National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue for the warm welcome; At the same time, he announced that he had had a successful meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The two sides agreed to strengthen the exchange of delegations and high-level contacts, on the Party, National Assembly and Government channels, and strengthen people-to-people exchanges; effectively implement the Implementation Plan of the Strategy for Enhancing Economic Cooperation (EEES) between the two countries for the period of 2021-2025…

At the meeting, the two leaders expressed their joy that the two countries have had a 50-year journey of establishing diplomatic relations with the building of strategic trust and close cooperation in many fields over the past time.

On the basis of the very good political and diplomatic relations between the two countries and the very specific results that the two sides have achieved in the meeting on the morning of 4-6 between the two Prime Ministers, the National Assembly Chairwoman expressed her agreement with the Australian Prime Minister's opinion that the two countries still have great room to enhance cooperation. On the basis of free trade agreements, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), etc., the two countries can increase cooperation in trade and investment.

In particular, the National Assembly Chairwoman suggested that, in addition to maintaining existing supply chains, the two countries should cooperate in creating new supply chains to diversify each other's markets. The National Assembly of Vietnam supports the two countries to strengthen trade and investment cooperation; I hope more Australian investors come to invest in production and business in Vietnam.

The National Assembly Chairman announced that at the ongoing fifth session, the National Assembly of Vietnam considered and decided on up to 20 law projects, many of which were related to improving the economic, trade and investment environment. The National Assembly of Vietnam is considering and facilitating visas not only for Vietnamese citizens but also for citizens of other countries, contributing to promoting cooperation in trade, investment and tourism.

Appreciating the results of cooperation in education and training between the two countries, the National Assembly President reiterated that during his official visit to Australia in December 12, the universities of the two countries signed 2022 cooperation agreements. The National Assembly Chairman welcomed RMIT University to increase investment and expand cooperation in Vietnam under the cooperation agreement; welcomed the opening of the Vietnam-Australia Center at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, believing that the operation of the Center will contribute to improving the capacity of Vietnamese leaders and managers.

On this occasion, the NA Chairwoman thanked the Australian Government for sponsoring the General Course on Climate Change and Energy for National Assembly deputies and staff of the Office of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Vietnam always values ​​and appreciates Australia's role in the region and in the international arena. Emphasizing this, the National Assembly Chairwoman expressed her hope that Australia would continue to support the views of ASEAN and Vietnam on the East Sea issue.

On this occasion, the NA Chairwoman would like to thank and hope that the Government as well as the Prime Minister of Australia will continue to pay attention to, support and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate and contribute more and more to the socio-economic development of the two countries as well as to the relationship between the two countries.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese highly appreciated the central role of ASEAN in the region; believes that the relationship between the two countries will grow stronger in the future when bilateral trade turnover in 2022 has increased by 30% compared to 2021, this reflects the dynamism of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Australian Prime Minister said that the relationship between Australia and Vietnam has been increasingly tightened, demonstrated by the results of cooperation in many fields over the years. Regarding the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference hosted by the National Assembly of Vietnam, the Prime Minister affirmed that he would promote the sending of a delegation of Australian parliamentarians to Hanoi to attend in September.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic has shown a supply chain problem, the Australian Prime Minister clearly stated the importance and necessity of self-reliance; Australia announced a support of A$105 million to Vietnam for cooperation in infrastructure, climate change response and energy transition. RMIT University has announced the next phase of its commitment to investing in education, research and cooperation in Vietnam, including a strategic investment fund worth A$250 million…

Vietnam is the country with the 5th largest number of international students in Australia and Australia is the second destination for Vietnamese students. Emphasizing that, the Australian Prime Minister said that RMIT University is a typical example of cooperation in education and training between the two countries; emphasized that the cooperation in the field of education and training will develop even more strongly in the future.

Noting the comments of the President of the National Assembly by organizing more seminars, interacting and sharing experiences in adapting to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, promoting cooperation at the Government level as well as at local levels of the two countries, emphasizing the important role of exchange and understanding between parliamentarians and the National Assembly, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that it would contribute to further promoting cooperation in the spirit of encouraging positive results.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese congratulated the Vietnam women's national football team for the first time in its history reaching the final round of the World Cup.
