These days, the Hop Tan village cultural center (Hoang Thanh commune) is regularly open for members of Election Team No. 21 to hold meetings, discuss and implement election-related tasks, and for people to check voter information and promptly report any errors to the Election Team. Election Team No. 21 has 707 voters, including 50 fishermen who regularly go out to sea to fish. Therefore, along with preparing other necessary conditions, Election Team No. 21 pays close attention to propaganda work to ensure that the majority of people, especially fishermen, understand the regulations of the Election Law; the purpose and significance of election day; and the rights and responsibilities of each voter. “For families with voters involved in fishing at sea, the polling station team went to each family to disseminate information, so that fishermen could arrange their time to exercise their civic rights, striving for 100% voter turnout in the village,” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Party Secretary and Head of Polling Station No. 21, Hop Tan village.
Hoang Thanh is a coastal commune with a population of 38,386 people, of which 26,079 are aged 18 and above. To ensure the election was successful, the Steering Committee and the Commune Election Committee assigned specific tasks to each member in leading, directing, monitoring, and supervising the implementation of the tasks. For the 2026-2031 term, 23 representatives will be elected to the Hoang Thanh Commune People's Council. After the third consultative meeting, 38 people in the commune met the criteria to run for the Commune People's Council. All candidates on the official list met the required conditions and standards.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phan, Head of the Party Building Committee and a member of the Hoang Thanh Commune Election Steering Committee, said: “Up to this point, preparations for the election, such as reviewing the area, establishing polling stations, forming election committees, posting voter lists, and assigning personnel to serve the election, are being carried out on schedule. From now until March 15th, the Party Building Committee will continue to advise the Commune Election Steering Committee to strengthen propaganda work; review and revise the list to ensure that all voters cast their ballots; post the official list of candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels; organize meetings with voters to campaign for the election; and launch emulation movements to achieve outstanding results to celebrate the success of the election.”
In Quang Phu ward, based on the number of electoral units already allocated, the ward has established 7 election committees in 7 electoral units; and 32 polling stations in 32 polling areas. In addition to the consultation process to select candidates ensuring the structure, composition, number, and standards, the Quang Phu Ward Election Steering Committee has strengthened its efforts to monitor public opinion and promptly address concerns regarding the election process and candidates. As a result, to date, the locality has received no complaints or denunciations related to the election process.
The Chairman of the People's Committee and Chairman of the Election Committee of Quang Phu Ward, Nghiem Phu Lam, stated: “To ensure the election is a success, from now until election day, the ward's Election Committee will focus on leading and directing the preparation of adequate facilities, arranging polling stations, ballot boxes, and other necessary conditions for the election. Simultaneously, the ward will strengthen security forces to ensure absolute safety at polling stations and other locations related to the election; proactively monitor the situation, promptly detect and handle any arising issues, and organize voters to cast their ballots in the correct order and procedures.”
Following the plans of the National Election Council, the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee established a Provincial Election Steering Committee consisting of 25 members, chaired by the Provincial Party Secretary; and established 14 supervisory teams led by members of the Standing Committee and Provincial Party Committee to supervise election work in communes and wards. The Provincial People's Committee established a Provincial Election Committee consisting of 37 members, chaired by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The entire province also established 6 National Assembly election committees, 27 Provincial People's Council election committees, and 1,112 commune-level People's Council election committees, ensuring the schedule and number of committees comply with the law.
The consultation process was conducted democratically and rigorously. According to the allocation, Thanh Hoa province will elect 17 National Assembly deputies for the 16th term and 85 provincial People's Council deputies for the 2026-2031 term. The third consultation meeting unanimously nominated 21 candidates for the National Assembly and 143 candidates for the provincial People's Council. At the commune level, the third provincial consultation meeting nominated 5,807 candidates for the commune-level People's Council. According to Ms. Ha Thi Tuyet, Head of the Government Building and Youth Affairs Department (Department of Internal Affairs), the candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels fully meet the standards regarding political qualities, ethics, capacity, prestige, and other conditions stipulated by law. The structure, composition, percentage of women, percentage of young people, and professional qualifications all ensure compliance with the guidelines and regulations, demonstrating the representativeness, comprehensiveness, and quality of the candidates.

To date, 166 communes and wards in the province have completed the identification of 3,411 polling areas, including 19 separate polling areas (15 People's Army units, 4 People's Police units). The process of compiling and posting the lists of 2,971,635 voters has been completed. The compilation, announcement, and posting of the official lists of candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels have been carried out within the prescribed timeframe. The Provincial Election Committee has announced the official lists of 29 candidates for the 16th National Assembly and 143 candidates for the 19th People's Councils, for the 2026-2031 term. The commune-level election committees have compiled and announced the official lists of 5,807 candidates for the commune-level People's Councils.
With little time remaining until the election, the workload is immense. As the permanent agency of the Provincial Election Committee, Ms. Ha Thi Tuyet, Head of the Government Building and Youth Affairs Department of the Department of Internal Affairs, stated: “In the coming days, the Department of Internal Affairs will continue to coordinate with relevant units to intensify propaganda efforts to ensure voters are aware of the time and location of voting; review and prepare adequate facilities at polling stations; carefully safeguard documents, ballot boxes, and seals; and provide professional training for election teams. At the same time, we will closely coordinate with the Provincial Police to ensure good security and order, preventing any unexpected incidents.”
With the synchronized and highly responsible involvement of the entire political system, preparations for election day in the province are being carried out in the correct order and according to regulations, ensuring that this national event will be a resounding success.
