On the morning of January 11, at Ly Son island district, a working delegation of the Naval Region 3 Command led by Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 3 visited and extended New Year greetings to the government, people, officers and soldiers of Ly Son island district.
At the meeting, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh expressed his joy when visiting the officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550 and the forces stationed on the island. He emphasized the solidarity and efforts of the army and people of the island district to overcome difficulties, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
“Looking back over the past year, Radar Station 550 performed its mission in a complex sea situation with harsh climate and weather.
However, the officers and soldiers of Station 550, together with the army and people on the island district, united, strived, overcame difficulties and challenges, and successfully completed their tasks. From there, they contributed to firmly managing and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands, making our country a rich and strong nation," Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh shared.
Mr. Ngo Dinh Man, permanent vice chairman of Ly Son District People's Committee, thanked the working delegation for visiting and presenting gifts to officers, soldiers and people of Ly Son island district.
At the same time, he said he would continue to promote the spirit of military-civilian solidarity, heighten his determination to ensure national defense and security, and closely coordinate between forces and officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550.
Also this morning, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Ly Son District Martyrs Cemetery and the Hoang Sa Team Memorial in Bac Hai, and visited the Hoang Sa Team Bac Hai Exhibition House.

The delegation wished a happy new year to Con Co island right on the sea
Previously, on the morning of January 10, ship 390 - Naval Region 3 could not approach Con Co Island (Quang Tri province) due to bad weather and rough seas.
The working delegation of the Naval Region 3 Command had to anchor the ship at sea, use fishing boats to transport gifts to the island and wish the officers and soldiers on Con Co Island a Happy New Year online.
On the evening of January 9, from Da Nang military port, ship 390 blew its siren three times to greet the mainland, then headed out to sea towards Con Co island district. At the end of the year, affected by the northeast monsoon, the sea was rough, large waves crashed against the bow of the ship, creating white foam on the deck.
After more than 12 hours, ship 390 of the Naval Region 3 working group visited and wished a Happy New Year to officers, soldiers, military and civilian forces on Con Co Island.

At 6:00 a.m. on January 10, ship 390 carrying the working group of Naval Region 3 arrived at Con Co Island. However, due to large waves, the ship could not approach the island to bring the working group ashore.
To ensure absolute safety for the crew members and sailors, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh - Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 3 - decided to transfer Tet gifts onto a fishing boat to bring to the island.
The navy had to spend many hours struggling with the wind and waves to bring goods and Tet gifts onto the transit ship to the island.
On the deck of the ship, the working delegation visited and wished a happy new year to the officers, soldiers, military and civilians working and living on Con Co Island and held a New Year's greeting ceremony online.
On behalf of the working delegation, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh - Standing member of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 3 - sent best wishes to the Party Committee, government, army and people on Con Co island district, officers and soldiers of Radar Station 540 of Regiment 351 (Naval Region 3 Command) on the occasion of the New Year of At Ty 2025.
