Final round of the 9th Journalism Competition

(HTV) - General Secretary To Lam presided over the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Ceremony, affirming the role of the press in Party building.

On the evening of January 20th, at the Ho Guom Theater, General Secretary To Lam, along with other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, and representatives from media agencies, solemnly held the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Ceremony to honor outstanding journalistic works on Party building.

This year's Golden Hammer and Sickle Award received 2,544 entries, a 15% increase compared to last year, demonstrating the award's growing popularity among central and local media organizations. Of the 137 entries selected for the final round, the Organizing Committee awarded 6 A prizes, 12 B prizes, 18 C prizes, 10 Special Prizes, and 40 Encouragement Prizes.

The 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Ceremony - 2024: Honoring Outstanding Works

The work "We Stand at the Forefront of the Waves" by the team of authors from the News Center - Ho Chi Minh City Television Station was honored with the B Prize. The three episodes depicted Vietnam's journey towards the open sea, with the Party's innovative thinking transformations, including: reforming the domestic market economy and strongly promoting international economic integration. The work clarifies the country's development process, linking it to specific models and localities with specific resolutions and policies, reflecting obstacles and inadequacies in mechanisms, and proposing solutions to overcome them. Institutional reform is considered the key to development. In the context of a volatile world, our Party and people need to leverage their courage, intelligence, and the unity of the entire nation's strength. At the same time, it affirms that diplomatic achievements and international integration require real strength to receive and translate commitments into reality.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that through nine editions, the Award has increasingly affirmed its prestige, stature, and demonstrated the professional maturity and political acumen of professional and non-professional journalists writing about Party building. This year's entries were not only rich in content but also showed meticulous investment and creativity in form, reflecting comprehensively and with a focus on key aspects of Party building work.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that through 9 editions, the Award has increasingly demonstrated its prestige, stature, and professional maturity and political acumen of the team of professional and non-professional journalists writing about Party building.

General Secretary To Lam requested that the press continue to publicize the 14th National Congress of the Party; the strong reform of leadership and governance methods, and the enhancement of the Party's leadership capacity and fighting strength; and especially, focus on publicizing the building of a streamlined, strong, efficient, effective, and effective political system. The General Secretary also requested that the press intensify its efforts in implementing and putting resolutions into practice so that cadres, Party members, and the people unify their thoughts and actions, and unleash the great power of national unity.
