These green sticky rice cakes, wrapped with heartfelt sentiments, represent the deep affection of the officers, soldiers, and people in the western part of the province for their fellow citizens in the eastern region who are severely affected by the floods.

On November 20th, at the Ko Tam Community Cultural and Ecotourism Area, members of the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association and local residents were busily wrapping and cooking banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to provide timely support to flood victims. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, President of the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association, shared: “We expect to wrap approximately 10,000 banh chung and banh tet over the two days of November 20th and 21st. We hope this will be a source of encouragement and support for the people to overcome this difficult period.”

Ms. Ngo Thi Bich Chau, a resident of Group 2, Tan Lap Ward, expressed: "When I heard the neighborhood committee announce and call on people to make cakes to support flood victims, I immediately came to participate. We worked day and night to try to cook the cakes as quickly as possible and deliver them to the people in need in a timely manner."

The Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association and residents of Tan Lap ward packaged cakes to support flood victims in the eastern region on the afternoon of November 20th.

In Tan An ward, on the morning of November 20th, a large number of officials, police officers, and residents gathered to make banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to support people in flood-affected areas. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Hoa, Head of the Ward Police, demonstrating the spirit of serving the people, in response to the severe impact of the floods, the ward police advised the ward leadership and also appealed to businesses and residents to support the flood-stricken areas. In just one morning, a large number of residents, officials, and police officers gathered to make and cook nearly 2,000 banh chung.

Besides making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), by 3 PM on November 20th, Tan An ward had also successfully mobilized 1,000 cases of bottled water, 1,500 cases of instant noodles, 3,000 loaves of bread, milk, dried food, diapers, etc. On November 21st, officials, soldiers, and people of Tan An ward will continue to make approximately 3,000 banh chung to send to the people.

In addition, many organizations, groups, and individuals in the western part of the province also focused on calling for and mobilizing resources, joining hands to contribute and support essential supplies... to promptly deliver them to people in the flooded areas in the East and the communes of Yang Mao and Cu Pui in the West.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, as of the afternoon of November 20th, the Committee had received over 17 billion VND from organizations, units, and individuals to support people affected by Typhoon No. 13 and floods. On November 20th alone, the committee received over 6,000 packages of essential goods from organizations and units and has already distributed them to flood-affected areas.

It can be said that the above activities affirm the role and profound sense of social responsibility of the officials and people of the province.
