Innovation in teaching methods using technology
Le Van Tam Primary School, Minh Xuan Ward currently has more than 900 students of all grades, with 28 spacious classrooms, fully equipped with teaching and learning facilities; the school has a computer room with 25 computers; 100% of TVs, projector screens are connected to the internet.
The school has increased training for staff and teachers to improve their ability to apply information technology in teaching, management and administration. Digital transformation in management has helped reduce some administrative work, facilitating inspection work and synchronizing information data about teachers and students.
Principal Nguyen Viet Hai said: “100% of the school’s teachers actively implement digital transformation, applying information technology in preparing lectures and building electronic lesson plans. By using sounds, images, and games instead of traditional teaching methods, the quality of students’ learning is improved, creating a lively learning atmosphere.
In management, the school effectively exploits VNEDU software, industry database, MISA , IOFFICE... to help store and process scientific information. At the same time, the Board of Directors also applies electronic notebooks, online timetables and Zalo groups to connect with parents.
Digital transformation has contributed to improving the quality of lectures and increasing the number of teachers and students winning prizes in exams. In addition, the school aims to build a comprehensive digital education environment, accompanying the province in promoting digital transformation and modernizing education."
Implementing the digital transformation plan, Hoa Phuong Kindergarten, An Tuong Ward has innovated teaching methods. Teachers regularly apply software to design, edit and create illustrative videos to help make lessons more vivid and effective.
Currently, 100% of kindergarten classes and 7 computers of the school have been installed with Kidsmart software to support intellectual development for preschool children. Thanks to that, children can learn math, letters, English, learn to draw, develop their ear for music, tell stories through different funny characters and directly operate on the computer, accessing technology.
Kidsmart's activity hours always create excitement and attract children to participate actively. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thuy, the school's principal, promoting digital transformation has improved the quality of teaching, management and interaction between the school and parents and students, contributing to building a "Connected School".
In addition to Kidsmart software, teachers also design their own games using Canva to make lessons more lively. The school also builds a digital learning material warehouse for each age group and applies AI to create videos and electronic lectures, helping teachers update data conveniently.
In the coming time, the school will continue to enhance the application of technology, training teachers to use Babylala software to teach English, meeting the requirements of innovation and maintaining national standards.
Promoting school modernization
Recently, Le Quy Don Secondary School, Minh Xuan Ward has been equipped with an international standard STEM education practice room. This is the first STEM room installed in the province, equipped with modern technology equipment such as AI, IoT, Robotics to serve practical experience activities, scientific and technological research according to international standards.
The core goal is to build a STEM ecosystem, promote career guidance, start-ups in the direction of 4.0 and strengthen international connections. Vice Principal Dang Thi Bich Ngoc said: In the STEM room, students have access to modern technologies, design, assemble and control robots on software.
Students also use artificial intelligence to build ideas on computers, then create products through 3D printers and laser cutters such as hearts, school logos, animal models, etc.
3D products help students visualize more easily than two-dimensional images, thereby developing creative thinking and practical skills. In the whole Tuyen Quang province, more than 95% of primary schools and 100% of secondary and high schools are equipped with computer rooms; 222/695 general schools have online classrooms; 100% of educational institutions use school management software that is synchronously connected to the database of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The database of schools, teachers and students is 100% digitized; the issuance of signatures to deploy digital transcripts for primary school teachers is over 90%, the issuance of digital signatures for secondary and high school teachers is over 70%. The provincial education sector has deployed online registration for admission to grade 10 of high school, high school graduation exam and college and university admission through the public service portal and directly at schools. Providing 100% of administrative procedures online on the National Public Service Portal; over 90% of procedures are handled online.
Most teachers are proficient in using Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams... and apply some digital platforms in teaching. Director of the Department of Education and Training Vu Dinh Hung said: The Department will continue to restructure the system, improve administrative efficiency and play a central role in developing high-quality human resources. In the coming time, it will review and propose to abolish administrative procedures, promote the mechanism of searching and authenticating data to eliminate the requirement to submit paper copies; complete and apply the Electronic Student Record (Digital Transcript); promote comprehensive digital transformation, apply digital technology and artificial intelligence in management and teaching; promote STEM education and scientific research activities in educational institutions.
Along with that, the education sector will improve the quality of foreign language teaching, implement a roadmap to make English a second language; standardize industry databases, prepare infrastructure for online class observation and professional activities; establish professional clusters to increase support between schools; and improve the operational efficiency of the Provincial Professional Advisory Group.
The Department also hopes that all levels and sectors will continue to create favorable conditions for investment in subject classrooms, online learning, computer rooms and some software and digital teaching platforms to meet the requirements of educational innovation.
