Nam Dinh Club changes coach again.

On the morning of February 26th, Nam Dinh Green Steel Club parted ways with coach Mauro Jeronimo and immediately reappointed Vu Hong Viet to the head coach position.

Nam Dinh FC has decided to make a change on its coaching staff, parting ways with coach Mauro Jeronimo after only 10 matches in charge. On the morning of February 26th, the team from Nam Dinh announced the return of coach Vu Hong Viet. He is expected to lead the team through this turbulent period.

According to the team based at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh only has 3 days to prepare for the match against Ninh Binh . After Mr. Mauro resigned, the club's leadership needed a coach who understood the internal workings and could start immediately. And Vu Hong Viet was the choice that required no time to adapt. On February 26th, the strategist born in 1979 quickly returned to the training ground.

This is not the first time Mr. Viet has taken on a challenging role. In August 2022, he took over when Nam Dinh was ranked 12th out of 13 teams after 13 rounds of the V-League, and subsequently helped the team secure early relegation survival. Building on that foundation, he led the club into its most glorious period in history, winning the V-League championship in 2023/24, the National Super Cup in 2024, and successfully defending their title in the 2024/25 season despite significant squad losses.

On the continental stage, he led Nam Dinh to the knockout round of the AFC Champions League Two 2024/25 and secured a place in the Southeast Asian Club Championship 2025/26. In October 2025, after a defeat against Gamba Osaka, he voluntarily stepped down from his position. Four months later, he returned when the team had dropped to 10th place with 12 points after 13 rounds, just one point above the relegation play-off zone.

This reunion is not just a temporary solution, but also an affirmation of faith because Nam Dinh needs someone who understands them best, during their most difficult times.
