Lang Son is blessed with majestic landscapes, a vast system of historical and cultural relics, and more than 300 unique traditional festivals. Notable destinations such as Tam Thanh - Nhi Thanh caves, To Thi mountain, Mau Son ecological area, and the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son are contributing to the unique appeal of this locality.
Leveraging its existing advantages, Lang Son province has identified the development of ecotourism, resort tourism, spiritual tourism, community tourism, and border trade tourism as its key focus. The diversity of tourism types creates opportunities to develop specialized tourism products targeting various groups of tourists.
In addition, the province annually organizes many large-scale cultural and tourism events such as: the Lang Son Peach Blossom Festival, the Culture and Tourism Week, the Lang Son Province Ethnic Culture Festival... which have contributed to honoring local cultural values and attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, affirmed that in recent years, the province has decisively directed and mobilized many resources to invest in the development of tourism infrastructure and products. The active participation of large enterprises along with the consensus of the people has helped Lang Son tourism make significant progress.

General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence of Vietnam, and General Dong Jun, Minister of National Defence of China, along with other delegates, visited and experienced the specialty dishes of Lang Son province as part of the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defence Friendship Exchange Program.
To date, many of the province's tourism products are gradually asserting their position. In particular, the province is honored to have been recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark in Lang Son; the Huu Lien Community Tourism Village has achieved ASEAN standards, and the Yen Thinh cluster of homestays has also achieved ASEAN standards.
The fruits of these efforts are evident in Lang Son's welcoming of over 4.2 million visitors in 2024, including over 142,000 international tourists. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the number of visitors reached nearly 2 million, an increase of over 40% compared to the same period last year. With continued investment and innovation in tourism development, the target of welcoming 4.4 million visitors in 2025 is entirely achievable.
Strengthening promotion and marketing, expanding the tourism market.
To develop tourism sustainably and effectively, Lang Son province places special emphasis on promoting and advertising the local image to domestic and international tourists. These activities are implemented comprehensively, ranging from organizing events and multimedia communication to applying technology and expanding international cooperation.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan, Director of the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that Lang Son province has mechanisms to attract investment, creating conditions for large enterprises such as Sun Group, Vingroup, Sovico… to participate in the tourism sector. In addition, we are strongly implementing promotional activities on digital platforms, connecting regions and expanding international cooperation to bring Lang Son tourism to a wider market.

From the beginning of 2024 to the present, the province has organized more than 280 festivals and participated in over 30 domestic and international cultural and tourism fairs and events. Communication campaigns have been intensified through tourism publications, video clips, documentaries, livestreams, and inviting KOLs and KOCs for hands-on experiences. Alongside this, technology has been applied to develop smart tourism, enhancing interaction and engagement with tourists.
In particular, the organization of the 2025 Lang Son Tourism Destination Promotion Conference in Hue City with the theme "Who will go to Lang Son with me..." on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 has opened up opportunities for linkage between Lang Son and the Central provinces. At this event, the Lang Son and Hue Tourism Associations signed a memorandum of cooperation, contributing to the development of inter-regional tours and enhancing the connectivity of tourism products.
Not stopping at the domestic market, Lang Son has expanded internationally through conferences and seminars in China, ASEAN, Europe, etc. In March 2025, the Provincial Promotion Center worked with the National Cave Association of the United States, France, and exploration companies to develop adventure tourism in the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son. The province is also promoting its tourism in potential markets such as India and South Korea.
Alongside promotional activities, Lang Son is also stepping up training and capacity building for businesses, and promoting digital transformation in tourism. Organizing training courses on Industry 4.0 and digital transformation for travel and accommodation establishments helps enhance competitiveness and contributes to building a modern, smart, friendly, and sustainable tourism industry in Lang Son.
With clear direction, specific action strategies, and support from many parties, Lang Son is gradually transforming itself strongly on the national tourism map. Systematic investment in promotion, marketing, and collaborative partnerships not only helps Lang Son affirm its position as an attractive destination but also makes tourism a driving force for socio-economic development in the new era.
