Positioning Lang Son tourism brand

Lang Son is blessed with majestic landscapes, a massive system of historical and cultural relics, and more than 300 unique traditional festivals. Notable destinations such as Tam Thanh - Nhi Thanh cave, To Thi mountain, Mau Son eco-tourism area or Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark are contributing to creating a unique attraction for this locality.

Promoting existing advantages, Lang Son province has identified the development of eco-tourism, resort, spiritual, community and border trade as the key directions. The diversity of tourism types creates conditions for building specialized tourism products, targeting many groups of tourists.

Along with that, the province annually organizes many large-scale cultural and tourism events such as: Lang Son Peach Blossom Festival, Culture - Tourism Week, Lang Son Ethnic Culture Festival... which have contributed to honoring indigenous cultural values, attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.

Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu affirmed that in recent years, the province has directed strongly and mobilized many resources to invest in developing infrastructure and tourism products. The active participation of large enterprises along with the consensus of the people has helped Lang Son tourism to have clear steps of development.

General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam and Senior Lieutenant General Dong Quan, Minister of National Defense of China, and delegates visited and experienced Lang Son's specialties within the framework of the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program.

Up to now, many tourism products of the province are gradually affirming their position. In particular, the province is honored to be recognized as Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark; Huu Lien ASEAN standard community tourism village and Yen Thinh ASEAN standard homestay cluster.

The result of these efforts is that Lang Son will welcome more than 4.2 million visitors in 2024, including over 142,000 international visitors. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the number of visitors reached nearly 2 million, an increase of more than 40% over the same period last year. With investment and innovation in tourism development, we believe that the goal of welcoming 4.4 million visitors in 2025 is completely feasible.

Strengthening promotion and expanding tourism market

To develop tourism sustainably and effectively, Lang Son pays special attention to promoting and publicizing the local image to domestic and foreign tourists. These activities are implemented synchronously from organizing events, multimedia communications, applying technology to expanding international cooperation.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan, Director of the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said that Lang Son province has a mechanism to attract investment, creating conditions for large enterprises such as Sun Group, Vingroup, Sovico, etc. to participate in the tourism sector. In addition, we are strongly implementing promotional activities on digital platforms, connecting regions and expanding international cooperation to bring Lang Son tourism to a wider market.

Since the beginning of 2024, the province has organized more than 280 festivals, participated in over 30 fairs and cultural and tourism events at home and abroad. Communication campaigns have been promoted through tourism publications, video clips, reports, livestreams, inviting KOLs and KOCs to experience reality... Along with that is the application of technology to develop smart tourism, increase interaction and engagement with tourists.

In particular, the organization of the Conference to promote Lang Son tourism destinations in 2025 in Hue city with the theme "Who goes to Lang Son with me..." on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 recently opened up opportunities for cooperation between Lang Son and the Central provinces. Here, the Lang Son and Hue Tourism Associations signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, contributing to the development of inter-regional tours, enhancing the connectivity of tourism products.

Not stopping at the domestic market, Lang Son has reached out to the international market through conferences and seminars in China, ASEAN, Europe, etc. In March 2025, the Provincial Promotion Center worked with the National Cave Association of the United States, France and exploration companies to develop adventure tourism at Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark. The province is also promoting in potential markets such as India and Korea.

Along with promotion activities, Lang Son also promotes training and coaching for businesses, promoting digital transformation in tourism. Organizing training courses on 4.0 technology and digital transformation for travel and accommodation units helps to enhance competitiveness, contributing to building Lang Son tourism industry into a modern, smart, friendly and sustainable one.

With a clear orientation, specific action strategies and support from many sides, Lang Son is gradually transforming strongly on the national tourism map. The methodical investment in advertising, promotion and cooperation not only helps Lang Son affirm its position as an attractive destination but also makes tourism a driving force for socio-economic development in the new period.
