Nam A Bank's NAB stock is one of two stocks included in the MSCI Frontier Market Index.

Specifically, the US-based Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) has announced the results of its periodic review of the MSCI Frontier Market Index. According to the announcement, the index has added two Vietnamese stocks: NAB and BWE.

NAB shares have been included in the MSCI index.

This is a regular review, conducted every three months by market classification and rating organizations such as MSCI and FTSE. This process ensures that the indexes always accurately reflect market conditions, with data reviewed over three to six months.

The criteria for inclusion in the MSCI Frontier Markets Index include market capitalization, market capitalization adjusted for free float, trading liquidity, remaining foreign ownership ratio, minimum trading time, etc. According to BSC Securities Company, the addition of NAB to the MSCI Frontier Market Index is a positive sign.

This shows increasing interest in the Vietnamese market, opening up opportunities for foreign funds to invest in Vietnam alongside popular indices such as VN30, Diamond, Finlead, FinSelect, FTSE Vietnam, FTSE Vietnam 30, or MarketVector Vietnam Local Index.

Specifically, inclusion in the MSCI Frontier Markets Index will help NAB increase its ability to attract more foreign capital, including from active funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that focus on buying and selling fund units based on stocks included in this index.

Furthermore, having already been included in the MSCI Frontier Markets Index, if Vietnam is upgraded from a frontier market to an emerging market, NAB will be among the first stocks considered for increased weighting in emerging market indices.

The MSCI international organization's recognition is a testament to Nam A Bank's efforts in sustainable, safe, and efficient development. Nam A Bank is committed to continuously striving to become a safe and efficient investment destination for investors, making a positive contribution to the overall development of Vietnam's financial market.

The MSCI Frontier Markets Index is currently the most important index among MSCI's frontier market indices, with many actively managed funds with sizes in the hundreds of millions of USD using it as a benchmark, including Schroder International Selection Fund, Templeton Frontier Markets Fund, Morgan Stanley Institutional Fund, Magna Umbrella Fund, and others.

Nam A Bank's pre-tax profit for the first six months of 2024 reached VND 2,217 billion, an increase of 45.4% compared to the same period in 2023, achieving 55.4% of the 2024 plan. As of June 30, 2024, Nam A Bank's total assets reached over VND 228,000 billion, an increase of 14.3% compared to the same period in 2023, achieving 98.7% of the 2024 plan.

Capital mobilized from individuals and economic organizations grew well, reaching nearly VND 173,000 billion, an increase of over 9.4% compared to the same period in 2023, completing 97.1% of the 2024 plan; outstanding loans to customers grew in line with the credit growth limit licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam, reaching nearly VND 157,000 billion, an increase of 21.2% compared to the same period in 2023…

Notably, this is the second consecutive quarter that Nam A Bank has recorded a profit exceeding VND 1,000 billion per quarter. Of this, net interest income increased by VND 834 billion, a 27% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
