A check signed by the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs, used to pay for Apple's first telephone bill, is being auctioned by RR Auction. The check, dated July 8, 1976, reads "From the account of Apple Computer Company" and bears the company's original address in Palo Alto, California. Rated in "very good condition" by the professional rating agency PSA/DNA with a maximum score of "GEM MT 10", this check not only demonstrates historical value but also serves as evidence of the humble beginnings of one of the world's largest technology companies.
This check, valued at $201.41, was paid to " Pacific Telephone Company" and listed Apple's first official office address at 770 Welch Rd., Ste. 154, Palo Alto, California. Its appearance at the auction not only gives fans and tech enthusiasts a clearer picture of Apple's early days but also serves as proof of the company's relentless growth, starting from a small garage.
Owning such a historical item is no easy feat, with the auction price already exceeding $15,000 and expected to continue rising. The auction will conclude on March 21st.
Besides the check signed by Steve Jobs, RR Auction also featured many other rare Apple products, including an Apple-1 computer signed by Wozniak, a brand-new Apple Lisa computer in its original packaging, a Macintosh mouse, and even a sealed first-generation iPhone from 2007.
