A check signed by the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs, used to pay for Apple's first phone bill, is being auctioned by RR Auction. The check, dated July 8, 1976, reads "From the account of Apple Computer Company" and shows the company's first address in Palo Alto, California. Rated in "very good condition" by professional grading organization PSA/DNA with a maximum score of "GEM MT 10," the check not only proves its historical value but also serves as a testament to the humble beginnings of one of the world's largest technology companies.
The check, worth $201.41, was made payable to the “ Pacific Telephone Company” and listed Apple’s first official office address at 770 Welch Rd., Ste. 154, Palo Alto, California. The appearance of this check at auction not only gives fans and tech enthusiasts a better idea of the early days of Apple, but also demonstrates the company’s continuous growth journey when it was still operating in a small garage.
Owning such a historic item is not easy, with the auction price already surpassing 15,000 USD and expected to continue to rise in the coming time. The auction will end on March 21st.
In addition to the check signed by Steve Jobs, RR Auction also showcased many other rare Apple products including an Apple-1 computer signed by Wozniak, an Apple Lisa computer in its original packaging, a prototype Macintosh mouse, and even a sealed early 2007 iPhone. The auction also featured other vintage tech items, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to own "marks" of technology history.
