On the morning of June 12th, information from the Long An Provincial Police indicated that they had issued a warrant to search for three lawyers defending the defendants in the Bong Lai Monastery case: Nguyen Van Mieng (born 1966), residing in Truong Tho Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City; Dao Kim Lan (born 1967), residing in Ward 9, District 6, Ho Chi Minh City; and Dang Dinh Manh (born 1968), residing in Ward 15, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Long An Provincial Police, based on a notification from the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Ministry of Public Security regarding the detection and reporting to the Long An Provincial Police about three individuals who disseminated on the internet, via video clips, images, words, and articles with signs of criminal acts of abusing freedom and democracy to infringe upon the interests of the State, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals, as stipulated in Article 331 of the 2015 Penal Code, amended and supplemented in 2017.
The Investigation Police Department of Long An province received and verified the above report and sent summonses to the three individuals multiple times, but they failed to appear for questioning and provided no reason for their absence.
Through verification, the police in the ward where the suspects reside and their relatives confirmed that the suspects are currently not present in the area, their whereabouts and activities are unknown, and they cannot be contacted. Therefore, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Long An Provincial Police has issued a decision to search for the aforementioned suspects to assist in resolving the reported crime.
