Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union's selection committee, comprising veteran members and representatives from various city departments, met, discussed, and voted. The committee members unanimously agreed on the list of 12 candidates nominated by the Youth Union and decided to award them the title this year.

Scientific research remains a prominent field, with both nominees this year having numerous research topics and published papers. Dr. Mai Ngoc Xuan Dat is currently a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Materials Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City). He won the 2025 Golden Globe Award in the field of medical and pharmaceutical technology and has published many scientific articles in prestigious international and domestic journals.
Meanwhile, female student Vo Ngoc Minh Anh is a rare example of a woman with a passion for information technology. This student from the University of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) was honored as one of the 20 outstanding female students nationwide with the "Vietnamese Female Science and Technology Student" award in 2025, presented by the Central Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology .
Another candidate who impressed the judging panel was Dr. Nrong K'Duy Py, a specialist in the Co Ho ethnic minority. Instead of choosing to work at a medical facility near the city center, he chose to care for and treat HIV/AIDS patients at Nhan Ai Hospital (in a remote district of the former Binh Phuoc province).
This is practically the last line of care for HIV/AIDS patients in their final days. In addition to his duties as a doctor and deputy head of the intensive care unit, Nròng K'Duy Py also serves as the secretary of the hospital's youth union.
Mr. Tran Tai, Director of Vietnam Biological Mushroom Company Limited (Vinabiomush), is a representative figure for young entrepreneurs. He is considered one of the pioneers in applying biotechnology and automation to the production of edible and medicinal mushrooms in Ho Chi Minh City. Most recently, he was one of the 10 exemplary individuals honored by the City Youth Union as "Outstanding Rural Youth in Economic Development" in 2025.

Miss Intercontinental 2022 Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc - Director and Founder of Gen Zero Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. - was awarded the title for her many vibrant activities and efforts to spread awareness and promote environmental protection, serving as an exemplary young person who lives beautifully.
Singer Nguyen Thi Duyen Quynh, representing the group of outstanding young artists, is known for her song "Continuing the Story of Peace." She is currently collaborating with musician Nguyen Van Chung on the community project "300 Children's Songs" and other projects for children.
The sports field honored both male martial arts athletes. Nguyen Tan Sang (Ho Chi Minh City Sports Training and Competition Center) is a prominent figure in the national pencak silat team. Nguyen Tu Cuong excels in vovinam and is a member of the national vovinam team. Along with his gold medals, Mr. Cuong is currently a teacher and coach at Binh Chanh Sports High School for Gifted Students.
This year's award for outstanding Youth Union, Youth Association, and Children's Union officials recognizes two individuals who have dedicated many years to supporting and training children. Mr. Do Tien Dat, currently the Youth Union secretary and specialist at the An Dong Ward Cultural and Sports Service Center, has a long history of involvement with the city's children's movement.
Ms. Doan Thi Thu Chung has many years of experience working at the Sao Bac Dau General Group under the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, training children. Currently serving as the Deputy General Head of the Sao Bac Dau General Group and Deputy Head of the Sao Bac Dau Bac Tao Dan group, Ms. Chung contributes to compiling documents, handbooks, and manuals to support the equipping of skills for children.
And among the armed forces are two young detectives from the Ho Chi Minh City Police. Although working in different departments, these two young police officers, along with their colleagues, have achieved many successes in special cases dismantling drug trafficking rings that try to smuggle drugs into the city.
Captain Trinh Hai Thang, after returning from studying in France, joined the police force and is currently a chemical expert and secretary of the Youth Union of the Criminal Technical Department. Meanwhile, Major Nguyen Van Truong is an officer in the Team for Preventing and Investigating Crimes in the Field of Illegal Drug Trafficking and Transportation (Team 3 - PC04).

20 years of awarding the title.
The 12 outstanding young citizens of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 were selected from 157 nominations submitted by 86 participating organizations in this year's selection process. The awards ceremony is expected to take place on January 1, 2026, following Ho Chi Minh City's annual tradition.
2025 marks the 20th year that the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union has established and awarded this title annually. This prestigious award honors young people under 35 years old, exemplary young people who live beautiful lives, have ideals and aspirations, and make practical contributions to the community and the development of the city and the country.
