Premiere and introduction of the play "Against the Current of Peace"

The play "Against the Current of Peace" is inspired by a true story, vividly and emotionally reflecting the image of firefighters and rescue workers – those brave individuals who "go against the current of peace" to rush into dangerous places, fighting for lives in the flames, and bringing safety to the people.

On May 19th, the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Association ( Ministry of Public Security ) announced that, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for Protecting National Security (August 19, 2005 – August 19, 2025), the Hanoi City Police, in coordination with the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Association and the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, will organize a performance and presentation of the play "Against the Current of Peace".

The play will be performed at 7:30 PM on May 21st at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace in Hanoi. The event is expected to be attended by over 1,000 delegates, including leaders from the Ministry of Public Security, the Hanoi City Police, representatives from units under the Ministry of Public Security, leaders from local police forces, representatives from agencies involved in fire prevention and rescue work under the Ministry of National Defense , representatives from central ministries and agencies, Hanoi City, and representatives from organizations and forces participating in building the nationwide fire prevention and rescue movement.

The play realistically portrays the image of firefighters: They are not superheroes, but flesh-and-blood human beings who also face the difficulties and everyday struggles of life. But above all, they possess courage, sacrifice, and a noble ideal of service. Behind every battle without gunfire are sweat, tears, and even blood – paid for with their own lives to maintain peace and safety for the community.

For the artists and actors, this is not just a role but also a responsibility, an attitude, and an artistic voice in the face of the hardships and dangers that firefighters and rescue workers face every day.

The program is not only an artistic event, but also carries profound socio -political significance, a tribute to the People's Public Security Force in general, and the Fire and Rescue Police Force in particular. It is also an opportunity to spread the noble, courageous, and humane image of the People's Public Security officers, especially the Fire and Rescue Police Force – the unsung heroes in peacetime, working for the safety of the community and the sustainable development of society.
