Apple faces AI challenges and competitive pressure at WWDC 2025.

Apple is entering WWDC 2025 under considerable pressure as its artificial intelligence (AI) ambitions have yet to materialize as expected. While the company announced significant improvements last year, including a personalized version of Siri and new AI tools for developers, the rollout has been fraught with problems, leaving both developers and users disappointed.

Apple CEO Tim Cook faced many challenges when he arrived at WWDC.

Siri's delay is one of the most notable points, as Apple once considered it the cornerstone of its AI strategy—an assistant that could understand context and support in-app actions. However, developers have yet to fully leverage these features, limiting the intelligent app experience.

In addition, Apple is facing changes to the App Store's payment policies in the US, as a new ruling prohibits the company from charging fees for out-of-app payments. This could impact App Store revenue, forcing Apple to introduce more attractive features to maintain the value of the iOS ecosystem.

In this context, Apple needs to focus on improving AI tools to support app development, ensure a smoother user experience, and enable developers to harness the potential of AI within the Apple ecosystem. WWDC 2025 will be an opportunity for the company to demonstrate that it remains competitive in the AI race against major rivals such as OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft.

Meta may invest over $10 billion in Scale AI.

According to Bloomberg, Meta is in negotiations for a multi-billion dollar investment in Scale AI, with the deal potentially exceeding $10 billion. If confirmed, this would be Facebook's largest external AI investment and one of the largest funding deals ever for a private company.

Scale AI, led by CEO Alexandr Wang, specializes in providing data labeling services to companies like Microsoft and OpenAI to support AI model training. Much of this work is done by contractors. Recently, the U.S. Department of Labor concluded an investigation into the company's potential misclassification and underpayment of employees.

Meta may invest more than $10 billion in Scale AI.

According to Bloomberg, Scale AI generated $870 million in revenue last year and is expected to reach $2 billion this year. Meta was already an investor in Scale AI's $1 billion Series F funding round, bringing the company's valuation to $13.8 billion. Additionally, Scale AI is developing Defense Llama, a large-scale language model for military purposes, based on Meta's Llama 3 platform.

Microsoft and Asus launch two Xbox Ally handheld devices.

Microsoft and Asus have just announced two new handheld gaming devices, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, offering a full-screen Xbox experience on Windows, optimizing mobile gaming.

The white ROG Xbox Ally supports gaming at 720p resolution, while the more powerful black ROG Xbox Ally X is geared towards a 900p to 1080p experience on the go. Both feature a 7-inch 1080p display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and VRR support.

In terms of specifications, the Xbox Ally uses an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip, 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, and a 512GB M.2 2280 SSD. Meanwhile, the Xbox Ally X is upgraded with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, and a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD.

This collaboration marks a new step forward for Microsoft in the handheld gaming device field, bringing a more powerful Xbox mobile experience to gamers.

XAG launches next-generation agricultural drone.

XAG Co Ltd, one of China's largest manufacturers of smart agricultural drones, recently unveiled two new drone models, the R100 and R200, in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.

These two aircraft models have undergone comprehensive upgrades in structural design, intelligent control systems, power, and mission capabilities, optimizing operational performance. According to Peng Bin, founder and CEO of XAG, the new models will help farmers reduce production costs, minimize pesticide waste, and increase crop yields.

The R100 and R200 drones are particularly well-suited for greenhouses and orchards where limited space and terrain make manual spraying difficult. With their compact, flexible, intelligent, and safe design, these new drones promise to be invaluable tools for farmers in improving production efficiency.
