
Specifically, according to Decision No. 1611/QD-TTg, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province, was recognized as having achieved the new rural standard in 2023.
According to Decision No. 1612/QD-TTg, Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang province, was recognized as having achieved the new rural standard in 2023.
According to Decision No. 1613/QD-TTg, Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, was recognized as having met the standards for a new rural area in 2024.
The People's Committees of the three provinces of Ben Tre, Soc Trang, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau are responsible for announcing and awarding commendations according to regulations; directing the People's Committees of the districts to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in building new rural areas.
It is known that Mo Cay Nam district has 15 out of 15 communes recognized as meeting the standards of new rural areas, achieving a rate of 100%; the number of communes recognized as meeting the advanced new rural area standards according to the criteria set for the 2021-2025 period is 3 out of 15 communes, a rate of 20%; 1 town has been recognized as meeting the standards of a civilized urban area, achieving a rate of 100%; and 1 model new rural commune (Dinh Thuy), a rate of 6.7%.
Chau Thanh District began implementing the New Rural Development Program in 2011. After more than 13 years of implementing the National Target Program for New Rural Development, Chau Thanh District now has 7 out of 7 communes meeting the new rural development standards. The district has achieved 9 out of 9 criteria for a new rural district.
To date, Con Dao has met the criteria for building new rural areas. The new rural development program has mobilized significant resources from the entire society, especially in building and improving rural infrastructure, improving the environment, mobilizing investment capital for production development, and raising income and the quality of life for the people. With the efforts in the process of building new rural areas, the material living standards of the people of Con Dao have been steadily improving. Currently, the average per capita income in Con Dao is over 90 million VND/person/year, the highest in the province, and the district has no poor households.
