Cong Phuong reunites with HAGL.

The latest 2024 National Cup schedule has attracted attention from fans as Cong Phuong will face HAGL again in the Round of 16 of the 2024/2025 National Cup. Previously, in the qualifying round, Binh Phuoc won 1-0 against Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club to advance to the next round.

Cong Phuong was the player who scored the only goal that brought victory to Binh Phuoc. Although Cong Phuong has had limited playing time in Japan over the past year, he still showed impressive goal-scoring instincts.

Cong Phuong will have an emotional match when he returns to Pleiku Stadium to face his former team, HAGL. Compared to Binh Phuoc, HAGL's squad may not be overwhelmingly superior in terms of domestic players, but their players have regular playing time in the V-League, giving them a slight edge.

In the Round of 16 of the 2024/2025 National Cup, besides Binh Phuoc, two other teams from the First Division will face V-League teams: PVF CAND (against The Cong Viettel ) and Dong Thap (against Hanoi FC). Despite being considered underdogs and playing away from home, both teams are still expected to spring surprises.

Meanwhile, Ninh Binh, after causing an upset by defeating Ho Chi Minh City FC in the qualifying round, will also face a relatively "easier" opponent. Ninh Binh will play against Ba Ria Vung Tau, a team also competing in the First Division.
