The "trump cards"
Looking at the list of 20 key projects this year, one can see a very systematic and scientific strategy for allocating public and private resources. Instead of spreading resources too thinly, Lam Dong focuses on core areas such as: expressway infrastructure, bauxite industry, and high-end resort tourism.
Of the total 88,000 billion VND, the capital structure is divided into 3 groups: 10 projects funded by the state budget (focusing on social welfare, irrigation, and national highways), 2 public-private partnership (PPP) projects (with a focus on expressways), and 8 projects funded outside the state budget, with the largest contributions coming from large economic corporations.
The most notable highlight is the Tan Phu - Bao Loc and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressways, with a total investment of over 35,700 billion VND. These are the "lifelines" connecting Lam Dong province with the Southern key economic region. Reportedly, these two projects have completed the final preparatory stages and are preparing to begin construction on some foundational components in the near future.
In addition, the industrial sector witnessed a breakthrough with the expansion project of the second alumina production line at the Lam Dong Bauxite-Aluminum Complex, with an investment of nearly 30,000 billion VND. The complete resolution of obstacles related to bauxite planning in the past has paved the way for this project to become a major contributor to the province's budget.
Key projects and initiatives are of particular importance, directly impacting the goal of double-digit growth. Agencies and units must clearly define responsibilities and concretize the principle of "local authorities decide, local authorities act, and local authorities are responsible." Projects must not be delayed due to subjective reasons.

Untangling the knot from the scene
Although the overall picture is very optimistic, the implementation still faces obstacles that require decisive action from the entire political system. Land clearance remains the most challenging problem.
Mr. Nguyen Nhan Ban, Director of Investment and Construction Management Board No. 1, frankly admitted: "In the past period, with the close guidance of the provincial leadership, land clearance work has achieved many positive results. However, the biggest difficulty currently remains the incomplete compensation payments due to some households not agreeing with the price. The Board is closely coordinating with localities to disseminate information, persuade, and find the most harmonious solution."

Regarding financial resources, Mr. Ton Thien San, Director of the Department of Finance, affirmed: "Up to this point, all projects have fully complied with the procedures for capital allocation and have been provided with funding; there are no longer any financial obstacles. The responsibility now rests with the investors and localities in accelerating the implementation and disbursement."
Furthermore, to cope with the recent sharp fluctuations in construction material prices, the Department of Industry and Trade has proactively implemented stabilization measures to ensure an uninterrupted supply of stone, sand, and steel, helping contractors feel secure in staying on construction sites.
Determination from the leader
The excitement surrounding key projects is not only evident on the construction sites but also emanates from the leadership meetings of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. In the context of operating the new government apparatus in 2026, the determination of the provincial leadership is the greatest driving force for investors.
The fact that the province has allocated over 9,500 billion VND for land clearance and resettlement for the North-South high-speed railway project section passing through the area demonstrates Lam Dong's forward-thinking approach and readiness for inter-regional connectivity.
Recently, the Provincial People's Committee also approved a list of 24 public investment projects for the period 2026-2030, focusing on key infrastructure, connecting bridges, and technical infrastructure for people's lives. This affirms a long-term vision, not only stopping at 2026 but also creating momentum for the next five years.
