Real Madrid has been receiving a series of bad news regarding their squad situation. |
The Spanish Football Federation confirmed that Jorrel Hato Huijsen was not fit enough to play and was sent back to Real Madrid for further examination. The 19-year-old central defender missed Spain's 4-0 victory over Georgia on November 16th. After a detailed assessment by "La Roja"'s medical team, he was instructed to stop training immediately.
Huijsen has returned to the Valdebebas training center, where Real Madrid will conduct a series of tests to determine whether this is a new injury or a recurrence of an old calf problem. He will definitely not be available for Spain's match against Türkiye on November 19th.
Trouble comes at a sensitive time. Just last month, Huijsen was also sent back to Madrid with the same problem and only recovered in time to play in El Clasico. The risk of recurrence is making Real particularly cautious, as this injury previously caused him to miss matches against Getafe and Juventus.
The situation is even more worrying as Huijsen is not the only player to leave the squad due to fitness issues. Kylian Mbappe suffered from right ankle inflammation, while Eduardo Camavinga had a hamstring problem and was unable to train with the French national team for the past week. Both were sent back to Real Madrid earlier than expected.
Real Madrid hopes Mbappe and Camavinga will be fit for the match against Elche on November 23rd. Huijsen, however, will need to wait for a diagnosis within the next 72 hours. If the young defender is unable to return, coach Xabi Alonso will be forced to continue relying on the duo of Eder Militao and Raul Asensio for the crucial upcoming matches, including the home game against Olympiacos on November 26th and the clash with Girona on November 30th.
