According to the Vietnam News Agency, from 7 a.m., the opening ceremony of the election was held simultaneously and solemnly at polling stations on the islands, ensuring compliance with regulations. Many voters arrived early at the polling stations to exercise their rights and civic duties, choosing capable and qualified representatives to represent the will and aspirations of the people.
On Sinh Ton Island, the atmosphere of election day was vibrant. The island's streets were brightly decorated with banners, slogans, and red flags with yellow stars fluttering in the sea breeze. Voters who came to cast their ballots expressed joy and pride in participating in this important political event for the country.
Voter Le Thi Kim Thi (Sinh Ton Island) affirmed: “These ballots cast at the forefront of the waves serve both to elect representatives who will represent the aspirations of the people and to affirm our sovereignty through the will of the people. Despite the geographical distance, each ballot cast today is a bridge connecting the hearts of the people of Truong Sa with the people of the whole country.”

In favorable weather conditions, voters arrived early at the polling station on Da Tay Island with enthusiasm. As one of the first to vote, voter Vu Dinh Dien said he hoped that through his ballot he would elect the most outstanding representatives to serve in the elected bodies. He also hoped that the elected representatives would utilize their intellect and ethics to contribute to the country's development, while also paying more attention to the lives of the soldiers and civilians on the remote island, contributing to the construction and development of the Truong Sa Special Zone.
At the polling station on Son Ca Island, the election process was conducted seriously, in accordance with regulations, ensuring safety and democracy.
Corporal Pham Duy Son Dat, currently serving on the island, said: “Amidst the vast sea and sky, we understand that each vote is a citizen's right, contributing to building and protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland. We are proud to be young voters representing millions of young people nationwide in fulfilling this noble duty right here at the front lines of the country.”
By 10:00 AM on March 8th, voting at the island polling stations was proceeding safely and in accordance with regulations. Some polling stations had completed the election process; some polling stations continued to welcome voters who were fishermen at sea to cast their votes until 7:00 PM as scheduled.
Mr. Pham Thanh Liem, Chairman of the People's Committee of the Truong Sa Special Zone, said that after the election period ends, the ballot boxes will be counted and handed over for transport to the mainland as per regulations. Due to the unique situation where many voters are fishermen operating in fishing grounds, mobile polling stations have also been arranged to bring ballot boxes to guard posts and fishing vessels to ensure that all voters have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
In addition to the 20 early voting areas, the Truong Sa Special Zone also has polling station No. 14 at the Truong Sa Island hall and polling station No. 1 at the 146th Brigade hall, which will conduct voting on the national election day, March 15th.
