In the 2025 mock high school graduation exam in Ca Mau province, held on May 16th and 17th, Phan Ngoc Hien High School had 514 out of 515 12th-grade students take the exam, with 497 passing, achieving a pass rate of 96.50%. Regarding graduation results, 501 students passed, accounting for 97.47%, an increase of 1.2% compared to the previous year.
Mr. Do Van De, Principal of Phan Ngoc Hien High School, commented: "The mock exam is a good assessment to check the quality of students and understand their ability to respond to the exam questions. In particular, both teachers and students learn valuable lessons to adjust their preparation for the next phase, aiming for the best possible results. Students get to familiarize themselves with the exam atmosphere, follow the exam schedule, and comply with exam regulations... they won't be surprised when they enter the upcoming exam."
Exchange and interaction during review sessions is a solution that helps students improve and enhance their knowledge.
According to the school's administration, this year's mock exam was well-suited to the students' abilities, closely followed the Ministry of Education and Training's sample exam, and, importantly, had a high level of differentiation, effectively assessing students' capabilities. Based on this, teachers and students at Phan Ngoc Hien High School have a clear direction and appropriate study methods to enhance their knowledge and prepare well for the official exam.
Nguyen Gia Huy, a student in class 12A2 at Phan Ngoc Hien High School, said: "I took four subjects: Math, Literature, History, and Geography. Although the results didn't meet my goals, I learned many valuable lessons from the mock exam to prepare mentally and academically for the upcoming official exam. Besides the review sessions organized by the school, I also proactively registered for online courses and studied on my own to improve my exposure to and practice with sample exam questions."
Tran Cao Cat Tuong, a student in class 12C2, said: "I chose to take the subjects: Math, Literature, History, and English. In the mock exam, I did quite well, except for Math, which wasn't as good as I expected. I will try harder to study so that I can do better in the real exam."
Nguyen Tran Ha Vi, a student in class 12C1, shared: "To prepare for the upcoming exam, I've created a schedule. Besides studying at school, I actively practice new knowledge at home. When I don't understand something, I contact my teachers or friends to discuss it. This helps me accumulate knowledge and identify my mistakes so I can correct them and prepare well for the upcoming exam."
“The school is strengthening its guidance and supervision of teachers' review content; homeroom teachers are closely monitoring each student throughout the review process, and coordinating with families to create conditions for students to review most effectively. In addition, subject teachers are paying attention to providing extra tutoring for students with low scores in the mock exams,” Mr. Do Van De added.
The 2025 high school graduation exam structure includes two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature. In addition, candidates can choose two subjects from the general education curriculum, including: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Literature, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Languages (English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Korean). Literature will be essay-based, while the remaining subjects will be multiple-choice.
