The Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Personnel Subcommittee and the Complaints and Denunciations Resolution Subcommittee to continue monitoring the process. After the results are announced, they must review and examine the handling of complaints and denunciations within one week to confirm the eligibility of elected representatives. At the same time, these units need to review, summarize, and identify shortcomings that require lessons learned, as well as provide direction for the 17th National Assembly term and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2031-2036 term.

Later that afternoon, the Office of the National Election Council held a press conference to announce the Resolution of the National Election Council on the election results and the list of elected representatives to the 16th National Assembly.

According to Nguyen Huu Dong, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Delegate Affairs, 500 National Assembly delegates were elected out of a total of 863 candidates. He emphasized that this is a significant achievement because in previous terms, the number of elected delegates sometimes only reached 499 or 498. "This time, we held a single election and the number was sufficient; there was no need for a re-election or additional elections," Mr. Dong said.

According to the list, all 19 members of the Politburo and members of the Secretariat who ran for election to the 16th National Assembly received high levels of voter confidence and were elected with a high number of votes. Among them, key leaders of the Party and State elected included General Secretary To Lam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.

In terms of structure, the number of delegates re-elected or who had previously served in the National Assembly in the 15th term was 247 (49.40%); the number of delegates participating in the National Assembly for the first time was 253 (50.60%). The percentage of delegates expected to work full-time who were elected was the highest ever, reaching 40%.

There were 150 female delegates (30%), 76 delegates from ethnic minorities (15.20%), 18 delegates who were not Party members (3.6%), and 33 young delegates (under 40 years old, corresponding to 6.6%).

In terms of professional qualifications, 418 delegates (83.60%) have postgraduate degrees, which is 5.04% higher than in the 15th term; 80 delegates have university degrees (16%) and 2 delegates have degrees below university level (0.4%).

According to Mr. Dong, this is also the first time the National Assembly has had representatives from the O Du ethnic group - one of the smallest ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Reflecting the will and expectations of the voters.

Also at the press conference, in response to the question "Does the ballot really make a difference, and what will the National Election Council do to strengthen confidence that the results are not only in accordance with procedures but also meet the expectations of the people?", Ms. Ta Thi Yen, Deputy Chair of the National Assembly's Committee on Delegate Affairs and Deputy Head of the Standing Office of the National Election Council, emphasized that besides ensuring compliance with legal procedures, the most important thing is that the election results must accurately reflect the legitimate will and expectations of the voters.

Therefore, the entire process, from consultation to election campaigning, is conducted openly and democratically so that the people have full information to choose worthy representatives.

After the official results are announced, the competent authorities will confirm the qualifications of the delegates and organize training courses on legislative skills, oversight, and voter outreach to help the new delegates quickly adapt to the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils in the new term. Public trust will continue to be strengthened through the practical work of the delegates, the oversight mechanisms, and the accountability of elected bodies.
