Over the years, the lives of the people in Cu Ty Chai village, home to 100% Mong ethnic minority, have undergone significant changes. Along with government investment programs and projects, the people's own efforts have brought a new look to this area.

Cu Ty Chai was once known as one of the poorest villages in Cao Son commune. The people there mainly relied on growing corn and rice on their hillside fields for their livelihood.
The rugged terrain and difficult transportation make the exchange and trade of goods challenging, keeping the people here trapped in poverty.

However, in recent years, thanks to the government's infrastructure investment programs, the lives of the people have seen positive changes.
The road connecting Cu Ty Chai village with the commune center and surrounding areas has been built, making travel and trade more convenient.
Furthermore, livelihood support programs such as providing plant and animal breeds and training in farming techniques have helped people improve production efficiency and increase their income.

Many households have switched farming models, introducing new, high-yield varieties into production or developing livestock and poultry farming to improve their livelihoods.
In particular, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has brought great joy to many families in the village. New, spacious houses with sturdy corrugated iron roofs have now replaced the rickety wooden houses. These are not only safe and cozy places to live, but also a motivation for the villagers to work and produce with peace of mind, and remain attached to their homeland.
Mr. Vang Khoa's family is one of the households receiving support to build a new house. The house is currently in the final stages of completion. For Mr. Khoa, this is not just a place to live, but also a place where his dream of owning a home can become a reality.
“ Previously, my family lived in a dilapidated old house, and every time it rained heavily, we had to move our belongings to avoid getting wet. Now, thanks to the government's support program, we have a spacious new house. From now on, my family can work and produce with peace of mind, and provide our children with a full education, ” Mr. Khoa shared emotionally.

Mr. Cu Dong, head of Cu Ty Chai village, happily stated: "Over the past two years, 4-5 households in the village have escaped poverty each year. Last year alone, more than 50 temporary houses were demolished and replaced with new, safe, and spacious homes. Although the villagers still face many difficulties, thanks to their unity, efforts, and the government's support policies, Cu Ty Chai village is becoming increasingly prosperous."
