The "Family Reading Contest"

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Plan No. 457/KH-SVHTTDL to organize the "Family Reading Contest - Bonding Through Love" in Bac Ninh province in 2025.

These are the winning entries from the 2024 Bac Ninh Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest.

The contest is open to family members living and working in Bac Ninh province; participation from multiple generations (grandparents, parents, children, grandchildren) is encouraged.

Entries can be submitted in either written or video format. Written entries should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words long, written in Vietnamese, typed (size 14, Times New Roman font), or handwritten (of similar size). Illustrations and decorations showcasing the family's creativity are encouraged.

For 10-minute video clips, effects and special effects can be used, and image and sound quality must be ensured; the maximum file size is 2GB, the resolution is 1080px, and the minimum frame size is 854x420 pixels or larger; it must be saved in a common format suitable for uploading to YouTube; videos using illustrative images and lively effects to showcase the family's unique creativity are encouraged.

The competition entry consists of three parts: an introduction to the family and their reading activities; a presentation of one book or collection of books from the family's library that has left the deepest impression on the family; and a sharing of solutions for fostering a reading habit and strengthening family bonds.

Contestants should submit their entries from May 25th to 30th, 2025 to the Professional and Technology Department, Bac Ninh Library, No. 1, Ly Thai To Street, Suoi Hoa Ward, Bac Ninh City, Bac Ninh Province. Email: thuvientinhbn@gmail.com.

According to the plan, the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the competition will take place on June 26, 2025. The Organizing Committee will award certificates and prizes to the winning contestants, including: 2 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 12 third prizes, and 30 consolation prizes.

The competition aims to encourage and develop a reading culture in each family and community, contributing to building and shaping a beautiful aspect of people's cultural and spiritual lives, and helping to build a learning society. It seeks to raise awareness of the importance of reading for intellectual development, foster imagination and creativity, and share initiatives, experiences, and action plans for developing a reading culture in the community.
