Diversified activities to care for union members

The weekend activity that the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) introduced to enterprises is the model "Your Health" that many workers are waiting for. At nearly 11 o'clock, the medical examination, consultation and free medicine provision for nearly 300 union members and employees were completed, but there were still workers rushing to ask for medical examination. The women said that organizing health examinations in this form every year is very necessary and convenient for the workers in the company. When they are seriously ill, they can ask for leave to go to the hospital, but for common illnesses, people buy medicine themselves, or even ignore it.

Ms. Le Thi Anh Dao has been working at An Giang Samho Company Limited for 8 years. Almost every time the "Your Health" model is organized, she participates. "I have been examined and consulted on how to take care of my health, and have gained more knowledge about seasonal disease prevention and family planning. In addition to this model, during my time working, I feel that the union and the company take very good care of employees. In particular, there are special incentives for female employees, especially those who are pregnant, maintaining vibrant sports and cultural activities..." - Ms. Dao said.

Health care for union members and employees in the enterprise

On the occasion of Workers' Month 2025, Phu Tan District Labor Federation has provided funding to support the construction and repair of Trade Union Shelters for 27 union members in difficult circumstances. Of which, support was given to build 13 new shelters (VND 40 million/shelter) and repair 14 shelters (VND 20 million/shelter), with a total value of VND 800 million, drawn from the district's Social Security Fund. The district Labor Federation also presented 35 gifts to union members and workers in difficulty, those who had work-related accidents or occupational diseases at companies and enterprises in the area, each worth VND 500,000, drawn from the district's trade union's financial resources.

The highlight of Workers' Month in Cho Moi District was the "Workers' Festival" held at ATC Furniture Company (My An Commune), with the participation of nearly 500 union members, officials, employees and workers. The Organizing Committee awarded flags and certificates of merit to groups and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the workers', officials', and labor movements and union activities; and presented 100 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the area (VND 500,000/gift). In addition, the District Medical Center coordinated to examine and provide free medicine to 80 workers of the company. A large number of union members and workers participated in joyful and exciting folk games.

The event “Workers’ Day” organized by the Long Xuyen City Labor Federation was equally enthusiastic, taking place at My Thoi Park, opening a series of Workers’ Month activities in Uncle Ton’s hometown. Hundreds of union members, workers, civil servants, and employees at agencies, enterprises, and units in the city attended the activities, benefiting from the care program with a total budget of nearly 200 million VND. Despite the unfavorable weather, the festival still took place as planned, both practical for union members and demonstrating the concern of the Party Committee, government, and employers.

According to Chairman of the Long Xuyen City Labor Federation Truong Van Chiem, the work of caring for union members, especially protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, is not only focused on during Workers' Month but also throughout the working process of workers. At the festival, the Long Xuyen City Labor Federation presented 54 gifts to union members and workers with serious illnesses or work-related accidents; presented 160 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; supported the construction and repair of 2 union shelters. In addition, union members, workers and civil servants also participated in folk games, sang together, decorated the camp, cooked, etc.

This year's Workers' Month takes place at a very special time, implementing the policy of merging and rearranging administrative units at the provincial, district and communal levels. In that context, trade unions at all levels have proposed many activities to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for union members and workers, making practical impressions, giving maximum priority to resources to support union members with housing, sharing cases of difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, etc. Trade unions at all levels also coordinate to continue to grasp the labor and employment situation in enterprises; organize "May Dialogue", "Thank Workers", especially the peak of union member development, establishment of trade union organizations, etc.
