In the unit's休息 room, Corporal Pham Chi Kien, a soldier in Company 5, Battalion 519, carefully records the amount of allowance he has just received, then sets aside a portion to send to his mother. For Kien, every penny saved is a motivation for him to confidently complete his duties. At Company 5, the "Saving allowances to send home" model has been widely implemented and has received positive responses from officers and soldiers. One of the exemplary figures is Corporal Pham Chi Kien.

Born and raised in difficult circumstances, orphaned at a young age, Kien lived with his mother, whose main source of income was precarious odd jobs. Understanding his mother's hardships, since enlisting, Kien has always proactively suggested to his unit commander that he send money home. Every month, Kien sets aside 1 to 1.2 million VND to help his mother with living expenses. "The amount isn't large, but it's my love and responsibility to my mother. I try to save money so I can send more," Kien shared. Kien's actions, though simple, are meaningful, contributing to spreading the spirit of saving and living responsibly throughout the unit. Also at Company 5, about 8 non-commissioned officers and soldiers send their allowances home to their families each month.

Captain Huynh Van Trong , Political Officer of Battalion 519, said that the model was implemented from the beginning of 2024. The Party Committee and the Battalion Command focused on disseminating and promoting the idea to ensure that soldiers clearly understand the meaning of saving allowances to support their families, especially for those soldiers with difficult circumstances . Currently , many non -commissioned officers and soldiers in the Battalion actively participate in sending allowances to their families through support officers via bank transfer or postal service . The amount sent varies depending on each person's circumstances, commonly ranging from 50-70% of the total allowance. “Beyond its material significance, the model also creates a strong ripple effect within the unit, contributing to building the fine qualities of the Ho Chi Minh's soldiers in the new era. Through this, each soldier further appreciates the value of labor, learns to live a planned life, and takes responsibility for themselves and their families,” Captain Huynh Van Trong shared.

Corporal Tran Van Mo, a soldier in Platoon 4, Company 6, Battalion 519, is also a prime example. Every month, Mo regularly sends a portion of his allowance home to help his family. This act of sharing not only alleviates his family's difficulties but also provides him with moral support, allowing him to focus on his work and successfully complete his assigned tasks. Within the units under Battalion 519, this model continues to be effectively implemented. Sergeant Huynh Anh Tai, the squad leader of SPG-9 Platoon, regularly sends a portion of his allowance home to his family every month. In Mixed Company 7, Sergeant Nguyen Quynh, who enlisted in 2025, comes from a difficult family background; his father passed away in 2018, and his mother is a factory worker. Quynh is always clearly aware of his responsibilities. Every month, he sends 1.2 to 1.5 million VND home to help his family.

The meager savings from allowances, though not large, embody the affection, sharing, and determination of young soldiers to overcome difficulties. Through concrete and practical actions, the "Saving allowances to send home" model contributes to nurturing family bonds and strengthening the support system for each soldier. In the future, Battalion 519 is determined to continue maintaining and expanding this model, considering it an important aspect of troop education and training. This will not only contribute to the formation of a thrifty and responsible lifestyle but also spread positive human values throughout the unit and society.
