Diversity of Tet cultural space

For every Vietnamese person in general and Hung Yen people in particular, the cultural space of the traditional Tet holiday always has a sacred and profound meaning as well as excitement and anticipation. This year, on the occasion of the Giap Thin Lunar New Year 2024, the diversity in the cultural space of Tet in the province is even more prominent with many exciting and attractive activities.

Tet is not only a time for everyone to reunite and gather with family and relatives, but also a time for everyone to immerse themselves in the fresh natural scenery, spiritual and cultural festivals, and unique art programs... Therefore, for many people in Hung Yen, whether working far away or at home, they are all eagerly waiting for Tet to come and Spring to return. Mr. Nguyen Minh Thuat, from Tan Phuc commune (An Thi), currently working in Ho Chi Minh City, said: Although I work in the South, every year on the occasion of Lunar New Year, I still arrange my work to return home to celebrate Tet. Not only do I get to reunite with my family, I also love the traditional Tet atmosphere with many spring festival activities in my hometown. With the same spirit of looking forward to Tet to immerse herself in the spring atmosphere, Ms. Le Bich Viet in Lam Son ward (Hung Yen city) expressed: What I like most about Tet is seeing the city decorated with flags, flowers, spring attractions such as Nguyen Van Linh Square, communal houses, temples, pagodas... are beautifully landscaped. Tet is a time to rest after a year of hard work, it is the moments with relatives and friends immersing themselves in the spring cultural space that helps me erase all worries and fatigue.

To prepare a colorful cultural space for Tet to celebrate the Party - celebrate the Spring of Giap Thin 2024, these days, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism together with authorities at all levels and localities are urgently carrying out many tasks to meet the needs of Tet and Spring for the people. Comrade Do Huu Nhan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: In 2023, the province's socio -economic situation achieved many positive achievements. Under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department has issued documents guiding units and localities to carry out many tasks such as: Renovating and creating landscapes, replacing symbols, banners, and slogans at administrative centers, relic sites, and main roads at establishments; creating healthy entertainment spaces. In addition, strengthening the organization of cultural, artistic, and sports activities such as: Building art programs to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring, praise the homeland, the country, praise the Party, and Uncle Ho; Organize poetry club activities, folk dances... to create a joyful and exciting Tet atmosphere for everyone.

Many localities in the province have been renovating roads and destinations to celebrate the spring festival to serve the people. Comrade Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Hao town, said: Following the direction of the province and the cultural sector, we have decorated the roads, hung Party flags, national flags, billboards, and posters with the content of celebrating the Party and the new spring. In particular, at entertainment spots, historical sites, etc., there is a strong spring atmosphere with colorful landscape designs combining tradition and modernity to attract people to celebrate Tet and welcome Spring.

In particular, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has directed the Provincial Museum to coordinate with the Provincial Cultural Center, Hung Yen Cheo Theater, Provincial Library and Hung Yen Tourism Promotion Information Center to prepare for the organization of the thematic exhibition "Vietnamese Tet Market". Here, people will be able to visit and experience the Tet atmosphere in Vietnamese families such as: Ancestral altars, food trays, fruit trays, red parallel sentences, fresh flowers, Tet paintings, wrapping and cooking banh chung; some rituals, customs and practices of Vietnamese people during Tet and the features of the Tet countryside market through the display booths. In addition, there are art performances of singing Trong Quan, Ca Tru, Xam, calligraphy, playing folk games; exhibitions of books, newspapers, magazines, documentary photos about the province's socio-economic development achievements, beautiful photos of Hung Yen tourism. The program is scheduled to take place from February 3 (December 24, Quy Mao year) to February 15 (January 6, Giap Thin year) and will contribute to arousing pride and raising the sense of responsibility of all classes of people, especially the young generation, in preserving and spreading the good traditional cultural values of their ancestors in contemporary life. This event promises to attract a large number of people to visit and enjoy.

This year, in addition to cultural and sports activities during Tet, on New Year's Eve, people can also enjoy colorful fireworks displays at 8 locations in 7 localities in the province: Hung Yen City, My Hao Town and districts: Van Lam, Van Giang, Khoai Chau, An Thi, Yen My from socialized sources.

The Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 is coming to every village and street corner, this is also the time when people across the country celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024). With the participation of all levels and sectors, it is hoped that the cultural space of Tet will bring to each person a warm, joyful and happy Tet. That will be a start that brings good luck and prosperity to each person in particular and to the development of the homeland and the country in general.
