Da Nang leads in the "Vietnam Provincial Tourism Development Index VTDI 2024" report.

The 2024 VTDI Index is composed of 17 pillars and 111 indicators collected from the Tourism Business Survey and other quantitative data sources. All indicators are standardized on a scale from 1 to 7. This scoring method allows for the use of scores and rankings to evaluate the VTDI of provinces.

The evaluation is based on five equally weighted groups of indicators. Each group includes pillars and measurable indicators for assessment. Each pillar is evaluated using a score. The average score of the pillars with the same weight then serves as the basis for evaluating the groups of indicators.

The indicator groups and pillars include: Favorable Environment Indicators (Business environment, safety and security, health and hygiene, human resources and labor market, Information and communication technology readiness); Policy and Conditions Indicators for Tourism (Priority level for tourism, data collection and sharing, price competitiveness); Infrastructure and Services Indicators (Aviation infrastructure, ground and port infrastructure, tourism infrastructure and services); Tourism Resources Indicators (Natural resources, cultural resources, non-recreational resources); Tourism Sustainability Indicators (Environmental and energy sustainability in tourism, socio-economic impact of tourism, sustainability of tourism demand).

Da Nang is highly rated based on indicators such as health and hygiene, human resources and labor market, priority given to tourism, tourism infrastructure and services, and environmental and energy sustainability in tourism.
