- From the beginning of 2025 until now, the market for consuming construction stone materials has shown many signs of improvement. Therefore, many construction stone mining enterprises in the area have boosted production and business to meet market demand.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truong, Deputy Director of Hong Phong Company Limited, said: In previous years, the company's mining and processing frequency was very low. At many times, the company's production teams only worked 1 day and then took 2-3 days off because the products were difficult to sell. However, in just the first 5 months of 2025, the company's mining output reached 321,000m3. Thanks to that, revenue also increased by about 10-15% over the same period. To ensure market demand, the company mobilized the maximum number of workers (about 50 people) in the mining, processing and transportation departments to work 2 shifts/day. This is due to the high demand for stone materials from projects inside and outside the province.
In Huu Lung district - the area with the most construction stone mining sites in the province (25 mines), the consumption of construction stone by enterprises also has many positive signs. Thinh An Binh Company Limited, Yen Vuong commune is one of the units licensed to mine with a relatively large capacity of 220,000m3/year. According to research, from 2020 to 2023, the company's mining output only reached about half of the maximum licensed capacity. In addition, the amount of mined and processed stone is also consumed extremely slowly. However, from the beginning of 2025 until now, this enterprise has increased sharply in both output and revenue.
Mr. Pham Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of Thinh An Binh Company Limited, said: Since the beginning of 2025, the company has always maintained the maximum mining capacity according to the licensed level. Compared to previous years, the stone material market has become more vibrant, the amount of stone the company mined and processed in the first 5 months of the year was almost not enough to sell. This is due to the sharp increase in demand for construction stone in neighboring markets such as Bac Ninh and Bac Giang . Since the beginning of the year, the company's revenue has increased by about 10% compared to the same period in 2024. The company is hopeful that the market will continue to be stable in the coming time.
Mr. Cao Van Hoa, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Huu Lung district, said that the market for construction stone materials in the area in 2025 will have many positive changes compared to before. This is because more and more construction investment projects are being implemented in the area, causing the demand for stone to increase. Through the unit's monitoring, in general, the units are exploiting within the licensed level, but the consumption rate is much faster than in previous years.
According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, there are currently a total of 57 valid mineral exploitation licenses in the area. Of these, about half of the enterprises operate in the field of construction stone exploitation with an average licensed exploitation capacity of 100,000 - 200,000 m3/year, mainly concentrated in Huu Lung; Chi Lang; Cao Loc districts.
In addition to the two enterprises mentioned above, through the reporter's discussion with representatives of mining enterprises at some mines in Huu Lung and Cao Loc districts, in the first 4 months of 2025, many units have boosted production and business to reach about 70 - 80% of the maximum licensed capacity (an increase of about 20%). Compared to the same period in 2024, the consumption output of the units has increased by about 10 - 20%.
Overall, according to the provincial statistics department, the output of exploited stone in the area increased by about 16% compared to the same period in 2024. In addition, according to representatives of some enterprises, the price of construction stone materials also increased from 10,000 - 20,000 VND/m3 compared to the end of 2024, the revenue of enterprises has increased. This has been creating favorable conditions for creating a "prosperity" for the construction stone material production industry in the province in the coming time. From the specific figures, it can be seen that construction stone mining enterprises are gradually overcoming difficulties and challenges to grow after many years of being affected by the epidemic and fluctuations in the economy .
It is known that, in the context that licensed enterprises have been promoting production and business activities to meet market demand, since the beginning of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has been continuing to implement inspection and monitoring solutions to promptly detect and handle violations. This will contribute to ensuring compliance with regulations of enterprises operating in the exploitation of construction stone materials.
