Hong Phong Co., Ltd. – one of the largest licensed mining companies in Cao Loc district – has seen a significant increase in both production and revenue compared to the past. The company is licensed to mine with a capacity of over 700,000 m³/year. However, in the last three years, due to difficult market conditions, the company's actual production has only reached approximately 300,000 m³/year. Looking ahead to 2025, the company's production and business situation is expected to improve significantly.

- From the beginning of 2025 until now, the market for construction stone materials has shown many positive signs. Therefore, many construction stone mining businesses in the area have stepped up production and business to meet market demand.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truong, Deputy Director of Hong Phong Co., Ltd., said: "In previous years, the company's mining and processing frequency was very low. At many times, the company's production teams only worked for one day and then rested for two or three days because the products were difficult to sell. However, in the first five months of 2025 alone, the company's mining output reached 321,000 cubic meters. As a result, revenue also increased by about 10-15% compared to the same period. To ensure market demand, the company has mobilized the maximum workforce (about 50 people) in the mining, processing, and transportation departments to work two shifts per day. This is due to the high demand for stone materials from projects inside and outside the province."

In Huu Lung district – the area with the most quarries for construction materials in the entire province (25 quarries) – the consumption of construction stone by businesses also shows many positive signs. Thinh An Binh Co., Ltd., located in Yen Vuong commune, is one of the licensed mining units with a relatively large capacity of 220,000 m3/year. According to our research, from 2020 to 2023, the company's mining output only reached about half of its maximum licensed capacity. In addition, the amount of mined and processed stone consumed was extremely slow. However, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, this enterprise has significantly increased both production and revenue.

Mr. Pham Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of Thinh An Binh Co., Ltd., said: "From the beginning of 2025 until now, the company has consistently maintained its maximum mining capacity as licensed. Compared to previous years, the market for construction stone has become more vibrant, and the amount of stone the company mined and processed in the first five months of the year was almost insufficient to meet demand. This is due to the strong increase in demand for construction stone in neighboring markets such as Bac Ninh and Bac Giang. From the beginning of the year until now, the company's revenue has increased by about 10% compared to the same period in 2024. The company is very hopeful that the market will continue to be stable in the coming time."

According to Mr. Cao Van Hoa, Head of the Agriculture and Environment Department of Huu Lung District, the construction stone market in the area in 2025 has seen many positive changes compared to previous years. This is due to the increasing number of construction investment projects being implemented in the area, leading to a higher demand for stone. Based on the department's monitoring, generally, all units are exploiting within their permitted limits, but the consumption rate is much faster than in previous years.

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, there are currently a total of 57 valid mineral mining licenses in the area. Approximately half of these businesses operate in the field of quarrying construction materials, with an average licensed mining capacity of 100,000 - 200,000 m³/year, mainly concentrated in Huu Lung, Chi Lang, and Cao Loc districts.

In addition to the two aforementioned businesses, through discussions between reporters and representatives of mining companies at several mining sites in Huu Lung and Cao Loc districts, it was revealed that in the first four months of 2025, many units boosted production and business, reaching approximately 70-80% of their licensed maximum capacity (an increase of about 20%). Compared to the same period in 2024, the consumption volume of these units increased by about 10-20%.

Overall, according to provincial statistics, the volume of quarried stone in the province increased by approximately 16% compared to the same period in 2024. In addition, according to representatives from several businesses, the prices of various construction materials have also increased by 10,000-20,000 VND/m³ compared to the end of 2024, resulting in increased revenue for businesses. This has created favorable conditions for the "revival" of the construction material stone production industry in the province in the coming period. From these specific figures, it can be seen that construction material stone quarrying businesses are gradually overcoming difficulties and challenges to achieve growth after many years of being affected by the pandemic and economic fluctuations.

It is understood that, given the situation where licensed businesses have been increasing their production and business activities to meet market demand, since the beginning of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has been continuing to implement inspection and monitoring measures to promptly detect and handle violations. This will contribute to ensuring compliance with regulations by businesses operating in the quarrying of construction materials.
