Ha Tinh's specialties are selling well after the holiday.

(Baohatinh.vn) - After the April 30th - May 1st holiday, Ha Tinh specialties such as "cu do" candy, pickled eggplant, dried seafood, fish sauce, etc., are in high demand as tourists and those living away from home choose to buy them for personal use and as gifts.

At the Cu Đơ Ông Bà Thư Viện production facility (Hà Huy Tập Street, Hà Tĩnh City), since May 2nd, there has been a surge in customers. On average, the facility sells 12,000 to 15,000 pieces of candy per day, double the usual daily sales.

To meet the increased customer demand during the holiday season, the facility has increased its workforce from 10-12 people to 25. From candy making to packaging, the staff work continuously to keep up with customer orders.

Ms. Phan Thi Nhu Y, representative of the Cu Do Ong Ba Thu Vien establishment, said: “Normally, we sell 6,000-8,000 pieces of candy per day, but this holiday season has doubled that number. Learning from previous holidays, the establishment has proactively prepared raw materials to produce a large quantity. Our customers during this time are mainly local people buying them as gifts and passersby stopping to buy.”

In recent days, the shopping atmosphere at the OCOP store located within the Thien Cam tourist area (Cam Xuyen) has become more vibrant and bustling than usual, as tourists visit and choose to buy typical products of Ha Tinh.

The shelves, laden with tempting specialties such as fish sauce, mackerel, sun-dried squid, peeled shrimp, deer antler wine, etc., always attract customers who come to learn more and make purchases.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (a tourist from Hanoi ) shared: “Ha Tinh's OCOP products are very diverse and of fresh, delicious quality. I have bought them to enjoy many times. This holiday, my family chose to buy 5 liters of pure fish sauce, some mackerel, and sun-dried squid. These are all local products; once you taste them, you'll never forget them.”

Mr. Tran Van Duc, owner of an OCOP (One Commune One Product) store in Thien Cam tourist area, shared: "During the April 30th - May 1st holiday, we welcomed and served an average of over 200 customers per day, resulting in a breakthrough in revenue, reaching over 30 million VND per day. This is truly a gratifying achievement, further motivating us and all the farmers, fishermen, and producers who have created these quality products."

Pickled eggplant, a traditional dish, is also quite popular and sells well. Each box of pickled eggplant sells for an average price of 50,000 - 70,000 VND. According to business owners, during this period, customers mainly buy 2-3 boxes or more, and some even buy dozens of boxes.

For many people from Ha Tinh who live far from home, pickled eggplant remains a familiar dish in family meals, and nothing tastes better than a bowl of vegetable soup served with crunchy eggplant.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Hoa (from Nghi Xuan, living in Hanoi) shared: “Every time we go back to our hometown, my family buys quite a lot of local specialties to bring back to Hanoi, both for personal use and as gifts for acquaintances and friends. For this April 30th holiday, I bought 8 liters of traditional fish sauce from the coastal area of ​​Cuong Gian commune, pickled eggplant, dried squid, pickled jellyfish with dung leaves, shallots, etc.”

Following tourists and expatriates to all regions of the country, this is also an opportunity to promote Ha Tinh's specialties, thereby creating more opportunities to develop the market for local products.
