Dong Thap University inspires creativity with the iconic project "DThU Aspiration"

The “DthU Aspiration” building is one of 44 key national projects selected by the Government to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The building is built next to the gentle Tien River, with a scale of 9 floors, built on an area of 900m² and a floor area of about 7,890m², symbolizing the land of 9 dragons, 9 rivers - the symbol of the Mekong Delta.

The “DthU Aspiration” building will become a center for learning-research-integration, a place to light up knowledge and inspire creativity for today's and future generations of students.

Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, said that the university will firmly pursue its strategy of continuing to develop the school into a prestigious training and research center, actively contributing to the cause of educational and social development. Dong Thap University will continue to conquer new heights, not only in study and research but also in community service.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung assessed: this is an important step forward, contributing to the realization of the school's development goals with a vision to 2035, becoming a high-quality training and scientific research center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

With that goal, investing in building facilities for the school in general and the "DThU Aspiration House" project in particular is an urgent requirement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Minh Hoan, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, emphasized: “If we consider education simply as teaching and learning, we do just enough, but if we consider it a mission, we do it with all our hearts. That is to train teachers who know how to love their students, know how to sympathize with poverty, and know how to sow faith in the most deprived places.

The future of the homeland and the country certainly has important contributions from students who have grown up from this school. Teachers who teach with passion and creativity; agronomists who know how to grow plants and people; start-up businesses in agriculture, tourism, culture, education, science, technology, digital transformation, information technology, artificial intelligence...

The Vice President of the National Assembly said that the inauguration of a building may be a matter of today. But building a new spirit of education is a journey for tomorrow.

Dong Thap University with its new location, new vision, new building, will continuously light up a path, a path from Tien River to the ocean of knowledge, from Dong Thap, the land of lotus, to all parts of the country.

“Every step forward of teachers and students today continues the spirit of nation building that has been passed down through generations. Together we will make our homeland more livable and our country more beautiful from this beloved school” - Comrade Le Minh Hoan wishes.

On this occasion, Dong Thap University officially announced to become one of 14 key higher education institutions training teachers nationwide, according to the Prime Minister's Decision on approving the planning of the network of higher education and pedagogical institutions for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The Office of the Reading with Cyclo Project awarded 100 scholarships to students of Dong Thap University.

At the ceremony, the Coordination Office of the Reading with Cyclo Project awarded 100 scholarships worth 70 million VND to students of the school participating in the "Affiliate Training Camp", with the theme "Green Gene Dong Thap - Digital skills for marketing local agricultural products".
