Dak Nong is a land with a rich and glorious history and long-standing cultural traditions in the Central Highlands region. Stemming from the need for socio -economic development, strengthening national defense and security in the southern Central Highlands, and fulfilling the aspirations of the local people, at its 4th session, the 11th National Assembly passed Resolution No. 22 on the re-establishment of Dak Nong province based on its separation from Dak Lak province.

Accordingly, Dak Nong province was officially re-established on January 1, 2004. This is an important milestone, opening a new chapter in the history of construction and development of this land located in the southern part of the Central Highlands.

Immediately after the re-establishment of the province, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, with a spirit of unity, overcoming difficulties, innovation, and creativity, especially with the spirit of "following behind but surpassing," the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee, through various terms, has focused on leadership and guidance, making correct decisions, mobilizing all resources for investment, maximizing potential and advantages, and arousing the aspirations of the people of all ethnic groups to rise up, creating momentum for Dak Nong's rapid and sustainable development.

To date, 20 years after its re-establishment, Dak Nong has escaped the status of a poor, underdeveloped province, achieving decisive results on its journey of construction and development, with outstanding achievements. Economic growth has consistently been high, with the gross domestic product increasing 12 times; total social investment increasing 20 times; and per capita income increasing 13 times compared to 2004. Dak Nong's potential and position have been affirmed, and the lives of the people of all ethnic groups in the province have continuously improved.

Today, Dak Nong has escaped the status of being a poor, underdeveloped province.

Striving to become a relatively prosperous province in the Central Highlands.

Recently, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province organized a conference to announce the Dak Nong Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and to promote investment in Dak Nong province in 2024. The plan was developed based on inheriting and developing the province's perspectives from previous periods.

According to the plan, by 2030, Dak Nong will become a moderately developed province in the Central Highlands region; its infrastructure system will be synchronously invested in; it will be an important gateway connecting trade between the Central Highlands and the Southeast region; a national center for bauxite, alumina, and aluminum industries, and a renewable energy hub for the region... At the same time, it will focus on developing high-tech agriculture, linking value chains; developing resort and eco-tourism, leveraging the advantages of climate, natural landscapes, unique culture, and the UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark. Sustainable development will be achieved, harmonizing economic, cultural, social, and environmental aspects, maintaining political stability, and ensuring national defense, security, and social order.

By 2050, the province aims to become a developed province in the Central Highlands region, with a synchronized and modern infrastructure. It will achieve sustainable and comprehensive development in economy, culture, society, environment, and national defense and security; become a national center for aluminum and downstream aluminum industries; develop high-tech, high-value agriculture; and become a regional center for resort and ecotourism. It will become a "Strong Province - Prosperous People - Beautiful Nature - Compassionate Society".

Recently, speaking at the ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of Dak Nong province, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated and praised the great achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Nong province have achieved in 20 years of construction and development, making a positive and effective contribution to the achievements of nearly 40 years of national reform.

The Chairman of the National Assembly also requested the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee to continue leading, directing, thoroughly understanding, and effectively implementing the resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government, focusing on the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated October 6, 2022, of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands region until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
