During the project's implementation, the investor erected barriers around the site, blocking the daily access routes used by residents. Following this, residents reported the issue to the People's Committee of Ward 9, requesting a solution to facilitate their daily commutes and activities.
Upon receiving the request on May 22nd, the People's Committee of Ward 9, in coordination with the Department of Economy , Infrastructure and Urban Development of Ca Mau City, contacted representatives of Asia Eastern Construction and Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company (the investor) to find a solution. However, the investor's representative stated that the project's technical infrastructure development was carried out in accordance with the policy within the land area allocated and licensed for construction. Therefore, regarding the temporary access route, they requested the People's Committee of Ward 9 to report to the People's Committee of Ca Mau City for consideration.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuong, one of the affected residents, said: “For more than a month, many residents have gone to the People's Committee of Ward 9 and the People's Committee of Ca Mau City to inquire about the resolution, but when they went to the ward, they were directed to the People's Committee of Ca Mau City; when they went to the People's Committee of Ca Mau City, they were directed back to the ward, so they don't know where to get a definitive solution. We have lived here stably for many years, and the road is our daily route for work and living. Now that the investor has fenced off the road, how are the residents supposed to get around?”
On June 24th, through the Ca Mau Provincial e-Government application (CaMau-G), the People's Committee of Ca Mau City (formerly) continued to respond to the people, stating that it had directed the Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Development to coordinate with the People's Committee of Ward 9 and relevant units to work with the construction unit to facilitate convenient travel for the people as soon as possible.
