On January 1, Tuoi Tre Online reported that at the old airport area in Duong Dong ward (Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang), people were busy watering and taking care of pots of marigolds, sunflowers, chrysanthemums... and many other types of flowers to sell in time for the Lunar New Year 2025.

Mr. Tran Van Tai - a Tet flower grower in Duong Dong ward - said that for over 7 years, his family has been growing flowers to sell during Tet. To have flowers to sell for the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, he has planted 5,000 pots of marigolds and chrysanthemums.

The harsh weather, hot sunny days and cold dewy nights, makes the flowers easily turn yellow. Thanks to the care techniques, the 5,000 flower pots his family planted are now growing well.

"I mainly grow marigolds. People on Phu Quoc Island like to buy marigolds for Tet. I sell pairs of marigold pots for between 60,000 and 120,000 VND/pair (depending on size)," said Mr. Tai.

"This year I planted 8,000 pots of Tet flowers. The flowers are growing very well. Customers have pre-ordered 30-40%. The rest have also come to see. This shows that the Tet flower market in Phu Quoc this year will be in high demand," Mr. Thai Van Hung, a Tet flower grower in Duong Dong ward, happily said.

Mr. Le Dinh Quang - Chairman of Phu Quoc City Farmers Association - informed that every year, people on the island grow many types of marigolds, chrysanthemums, sunflowers, etc. to sell for Tet. The atmosphere of growing and selling Tet flowers on the island is very bustling.

This method helps many households on Phu Quoc Island have extra income to have a warm and cozy Tet holiday with their families.
