One weekend evening, a loud argument in front of the Kim Lien hamlet made the residents uneasy. Just a few minutes later, the images from the security camera on the road were transferred to the Security and Order Team. The patrol force quickly arrived and promptly stopped the incident before it became complicated. Before that, the security camera system also helped the Commune Police track the movement of the motorbike thief and arrest him that same night. The quick and accurate handling of the situation reflects the effectiveness of the movement "All people protect the security of the Fatherland" in the locality.
In the countryside, there are still many deserted roads, a small force, and a large area. The police of Giong Rieng Commune determined that if they wanted to maintain peace from the grassroots level, they had to rely on the people and mobilize them to participate. Therefore, the police of the commune innovated the method of mass mobilization, coordinated with organizations to form a self-management model, in which the security camera model was a bright spot. The cost of installing cameras was not implemented from the budget but from the voluntary contribution of labor, effort, and trust of the people.
To make the model effective, the Commune Police coordinated with the Fatherland Front and organizations to visit each household and each family group to explain the benefits of security cameras, publicize the costs, and hold meetings to agree on installation locations. Thanks to the scientific approach, suitable for rural areas, in a short time, people and businesses contributed more than 186 million VND, installing 14 cameras at 7 key locations, creating an important foundation in ensuring security and order from the grassroots level.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Dieu - Head of Kim Lien Hamlet said that the model spread quickly because people saw its effectiveness. This house installed it first, and other houses felt secure and followed suit. Mr. Tu Trong Tinh, resident of Hong Hanh Hamlet, shared: "The more cameras placed in my house help neighbors and police officers on duty, the better. I am happy to contribute to maintaining security and order in the locality."

Thanks to the consensus of the people, from October 2024 to now, the security camera system has supported the handling of 6 cases of traffic safety and order, the arrest of 4 vehicle thieves and the prevention of 2 cases of gathering to cause trouble with weapons. Security cameras also help resolve many small cases that affect people's lives: Lost farm tools, littering on the roadside... Thanks to clear images, the cases were resolved peacefully, maintaining neighborly relations. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tan Dau - Deputy Head of Giong Rieng Commune Police affirmed: "The camera model actively supports the police force in managing the area, investigating, prosecuting and handling incidents. All cases of disturbance and theft are handled quickly and accurately, contributing to improving the effectiveness of crime prevention and control in the locality".
In the coming time, the Commune Police will advise the Commune People's Committee to expand the model, covering border routes and entrances to the area with security cameras. At the same time, encourage households to install home cameras connected to the common system to expand the surveillance range and improve the effectiveness of crime prevention.
From the security camera model, Giong Rieng is proving that skillful mass mobilization is the key to the movement “All people protect national security” to go into depth. When people believe and voluntarily join, peace is maintained right from each hamlet, contributing to building an increasingly civilized, safe and developed countryside.
