Sok Eysan, spokesperson for the CPP, said: "We won an overwhelming victory, but we don't yet have clear figures on the number of seats we secured."

According to the National Election Committee of Cambodia (NEC), the Cambodian parliamentary election achieved a voter turnout of 84%, higher than the turnout in the 2018 and 2022 elections. Of the 18 political parties participating in this seventh parliamentary election in Cambodia, 17 were competing against the ruling CPP.

According to the NEC, more than 90,000 observers monitored this election – including over 89,500 observers from 135 domestic organizations and 586 international observers. Nearly 1,300 journalists, including 137 international journalists, covered the election.

According to the Khmer Times, the election is a crucial test of Cambodia's ability to restore stability. It is a preparatory step for a peaceful transfer of power that could take place between 2023 and 2028. Prime Minister Hun Sen has done his utmost to ensure that the transfer of power will be peaceful, orderly, and smooth.

Earlier, in an interview with China's Phoenix TV, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that his eldest son, General Hun Manet, could become Prime Minister of Cambodia within four weeks of the election.
