At 25 years old, with over 3 years of Party membership, the Team Leader of the Mass Mobilization Team at Phu My Border Guard Station has made his mark through many practical actions, close to the people, actively contributing to poverty reduction, new rural development, and maintaining national border security and sovereignty.

Mr. Tinh is from Dinh Hoa commune. Since childhood, he has nurtured the dream of becoming a border guard soldier. After graduating from high school in 2018, he studied law at Can Tho University. However, the sacred call of the border region compelled him to abandon his studies, determined to pass the entrance exam and successfully enroll in the Border Guard Academy in 2020. After four years of study and training, Tinh graduated with good grades and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, and has been working in the province ever since.

As a young Party member, Lieutenant Danh Gia Tinh always clearly defines the role and responsibility of a soldier and Party member in studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh . Lieutenant Tinh shared: “I learn from Uncle Ho from the simplest things: living humbly, honestly, and friendly, always helping comrades and wholeheartedly serving the people. To gain the trust of the people, one must first be responsible in their work and have credibility in their words and actions.”

With those thoughts in mind, upon taking up his duties at Phu My Border Guard Post, Lieutenant Tinh always upheld a high sense of responsibility, wholeheartedly serving the people, contributing to enhancing the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers." He was always exemplary, leading the way in civilian affairs work, staying close to the people, understanding the local area thoroughly. Over the past time, he proactively advised the Party Committee and the post's command to implement many new and creative models and approaches to promote economic development in the ethnic minority areas. Notable among these are programs and models such as "Helping Children Go to School," "Adopted Children of the Border Guard Post," "Rice Jar of Compassion," building rural roads, and many other activities aimed at helping poor people in border areas.

Not only did Lieutenant Tính go down to each village to disseminate legal information, but he also closely coordinated with local organizations, monks in temples, and influential figures among the Khmer people to mobilize them to actively prevent and combat illegal immigration, smuggling, and social evils. Thanks to his perseverance and thoroughness, he helped people understand the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, raising their awareness of self-compliance and building a civilized and safe lifestyle in the border area. Lieutenant Danh Gia Tính confided: "Working in the border region is a great honor and responsibility for me. I always tell myself to dedicate all my youthful energy and wholeheartedly to the people, contributing to bringing a peaceful and prosperous life to the people."

Being a Khmer person, fluent in the local language, and knowledgeable about local customs and traditions, Lieutenant Tinh easily gained the trust and affection of the people. The image of the young border guard officer riding his motorbike through the hamlets to spread awareness, provide guidance on production techniques, and teach literacy to children has become familiar and beloved to the community. Whenever they see him, the villagers welcome him warmly and affectionately, treating him like a member of their own family.

Lieutenant Colonel Danh Kim Huol, Political Officer of Phu My Border Guard Station, commented: “Not only is Comrade Tinh excellent in his professional work, but he is also active in social activities and is a center of unity within the unit. Comrade Tinh always achieves high results in mobilizing the masses. Whenever there is a need among the people, Comrade Tinh volunteers to participate.”

Less than a year after joining the border region, Lieutenant Danh Gia Tinh was awarded a certificate of commendation by the Party Committee and the Command of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard for his outstanding achievements during the peak emulation campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, and the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh.
