Tottenham's early defeat presented an opportunity for Arsenal to move ahead. In the 12th round of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta's team faced Burnley – second-to-last in the table – at home. The visitors put up a strong fight, but with their superior strength, Arsenal still secured a convincing three points.
As usual, Arsenal dominated possession against their opponents. However, against Burnley's deep and highly focused defense, the home team failed to create many chances.
Fans at the Emirates Stadium had to wait until the end of the first half to witness a goal. Bukayo Saka assisted Leandro Trossard for the opening goal. This moment marked the 1,000th goal at the Emirates Stadium.

The game remained unchanged after the half-time break. Arsenal continued to dominate and gradually increased their attacking pressure. The visiting team's defense faced even greater pressure from their opponents.
A surprise occurred at the start of the second half when Josh Brownhill capitalized on a moment of carelessness from the Arsenal defense to score the equalizer. However, the Emirates Stadium side regained the lead just three minutes later.
Set pieces continued to be a formidable weapon for Arsenal. Arteta's men took the lead with two goals, both from corner kicks. William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko were the goalscorers.
Leading by two goals and enjoying a comfortable position, Arsenal couldn't hold on to the scoreline until the end. In the final 20 minutes, including injury time, the home team found themselves at a numerical disadvantage when Fabio Vieira received a direct red card. At one point, Arsenal were down to nine men when Jorginho suffered an injury.
The home team retreated their entire squad to their own half to defend. Even the forwards who came on in the second half stayed close to their own penalty area. Burnley's attack was ineffective, and Arsenal secured the three points.
