This is also the first activity in a series of events at the 2026 Fishing Festival - The Quintessence of Coastal Heritage, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Ward.

The organizing committee performed the rituals of the Fishing Festival at the Ông Temple and traditional opera on the beach. Hundreds of locals and tourists came to participate in the festival, learning about the unique spiritual and cultural values of the coastal village. Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (a local resident) said that he participates in the Fishing Festival every year. For fishermen in the coastal area, this is an indispensable cultural feature. He hopes that his descendants will always preserve and promote the values of the festival. This year, the festival included many unique cultural and sporting activities, opening up many opportunities for local tourism .
According to Mr. Huynh Nguyen Ngoc Giang, Chairman of the Hoa Hiep Ward People's Committee, the local government's orientation is to gradually transform the Cau Ngu Festival into a distinctive cultural and tourism product, combined with the Lo Village community tourism space to attract tourists. Beyond preserving heritage, the festival also contributes to promoting the local image, creating opportunities for selling local products, developing services, and increasing income for the people.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, the 2026 Fishing Festival - The Quintessence of Coastal Heritage, held from June 22-26, aims to honor the value of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is an indispensable spiritual and cultural feature in the life of coastal communities. The Fishing Festival, held in the fishing villages of Hoa Hiep ward, is also expected to become a cultural highlight, forming a space for community-based tourism experiences.

Previously, locals and tourists mainly participated in the Fishing Festival at the local shrines, with activities such as welcoming the deities, carrying the sacred decree, reciting prayers, and performing traditional dances. However, this year there will be more opportunities to experience the cultural life of the sea. This includes a special art program recreating the coastal cultural space through a combination of traditional Tuong opera and modern performance art. Tourists can also experience the coastal culture at Lo Village, learning about traditional fish sauce making, seafood processing, and net weaving. In addition, there will be beach sports activities, Bai Choi folk art performances, and a display of local OCOP products…
