For the people of Long Thang village in particular and Dong Xuan commune in general, Bau Sen is not only a natural lake that never dries up, but it is also associated with memories and is a part of the community's spiritual heritage.
Every morning and evening, the shores of Bau Sen Lake are bustling with the footsteps of the elderly and the laughter of children exercising and strolling under the green trees. Especially during the Lunar New Year, the tranquil atmosphere of Bau Sen becomes vibrant with the drums and cheers of athletes and locals participating in the traditional boat racing competition held there.

Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, a resident of Long Thang village, expressed her concern: "This lake is very beautiful, but it's a waste that it's only bustling for a few days during Tet (Lunar New Year). Perhaps the local authorities should develop Bau Sen into a cultural destination and a community space to serve the people."
Previously, the area around the lake had received investment in road infrastructure, lighting, a cultural park, and a boat dock. However, due to a lack of comprehensive and systematic planning, the potential of Bau Sen Lake remains largely untapped, failing to make a strong impression on the local eco -tourism and cultural map. Furthermore, the proliferation of makeshift stalls occupying sidewalks significantly impacts the aesthetics, traffic safety, and environmental hygiene around the lake.
Faced with this situation, the Dong Xuan Commune Public Service Center proactively proposed to the Commune People's Committee the development of a plan to develop a food and night-time dining street along Truong Chinh Street, directly connecting to the commercial and service space on the Bau Sen lake. According to Mr. Le Nguyen Xuan Linh, Director of the Dong Xuan Commune Public Service Center, the future Bau Sen space will be a harmonious complex. Below the water surface, there will no longer be individual fishing boats, but rather spaces for experiential sports activities such as rowing, pedal boating, and inflatable games. On the shore and along the lake, households will be given the opportunity to rent space to operate cafes, beverage shops, and restaurants.

"We didn't build large, solid concrete structures, but instead opted for stilt houses, floating houses on the water, wooden platforms, or rafts hidden among the trees. This architecture evokes the rustic atmosphere of the riverside while ensuring that it doesn't affect the natural flow and ecosystem of the lake," Mr. Linh explained.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Dong Xuan Commune People's Committee, the relevant departments are currently conducting a final review of the project before submitting it to the Commune People's Committee for approval and implementation at the end of August. The Commune People's Committee emphasizes that the development of the service economy in Bau Sen must absolutely not harm the natural ecological environment.
It is expected that when the project becomes operational, Dong Xuan will not only solve economic problems, create jobs for workers, and increase budget revenue, but more importantly, it will create a unique cultural and tourism highlight in the locality.
